AD Authentication help please?
I am having a problem which with much help from this list I have gotten
90% complete. I am attempting to create a samba server which will
authenticate users as a Domain member server using active directory.
The question I have is how can I map a specific container which is not
an OU but a CN in the active directory?
Any help is appreciated.

Getting Windows XP drivers from print$
Hi list
I have two very similar printers set up on CUPS and Samba is configured
to share the drivers. I had been playing around with setting up a RAW
printer queue with native Windows drivers but eventually gave up on
that. I deleted all printers and redid them from scratch and now only
one of them works.
Setup:
Ubuntu Karmic 2.6.31-15-server #50-Ubuntu SMP Tue Nov 10 15:50:36 UTC

correct password but then Linux

Hello,
I've tested Xen 4.2 on CentOS 6.3(x86_x64)
My goal is to connect to Windows VM on Xen 4.2 using SPICE client.
Installation of Xen 4.2 was successful.
Also creating Windows VM using qemu-dm and connecting to it using VNC are OK.
But qemu-dm can't support SPICE, so I installed upstream qemu. (http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/QEMU_Upstream)
I also installed spice-server and spice-protocol

smbclient -c options
I'm trying to get a recursive file listing with smbclient:
smbclient //host/share -Uusername%password -c "ls -alFR"
But I get an error:
NT_STATUS_NO_SUCH_FILE listing \-alFR
Evidently, smbclient thinks I'm asking for a file mask.
Is there a way to get a recursive file listing on a samba share so I can
pipe it to wc -l for a file count?
Ideally, I'd like to:

domain admin
i'm running samba-3.0.2 on a redhat 9 box with windows 2003. I've got a samba
pdc up and running. I want a user to have domain admin privilidges. With
samba 2.2.8a and windows 2000 this was easily accomplished with the following
entry in [global]
domain admin group = garvald
this had the effect that garvald had full administrator rights upon logging
into windows2000 through the samba

Ok, please post of both servers the smb.conf and tell the samba versions.
You have a misconfiguration in these.

space in user dir?
This is obviously not a long term acceptable solution. Could someone
please enlighten me as to the permanent solution, or at least see why it
doesn't work? This is not my problem, therefore I have not had the
opportuntity to test - I don't have a version that old. Let me know if it
is solved in a newer version as well. Thanks.
It is a workable solution, although the generally accepted

Change in smbclient between 3.0.24 and 3.0.25c breaks third party app
Hello list,
A change in smbclient between 3.0.24 and 3.0.25c breaks [1] the gollem
filemanager [2] and maybe others.
In particular folder creation is broken unless the folder is a top level
folder on the share.
To create a subfolder "level2" in the folder /level1 of a share gollem
executes this command:
/usr/bin/smbclient "//1.2.3.4/sharename" "-p139"

Maybe OT?
Hi all,
I recently setup Samba to auth to Active Directory - wow do I feel like
an alchemist for doing that - despite the deceased foul involved in
getting this setup - it is now working very well.
My problem comes in that logging from AD is constantly complaining about
failed authentication. I assume that as the User ID field shows only the
SID that AD can not (reverse) map the user - so

Any hints?
Thanks in advance.
