bug in readconf.c
Hi, there is a tiny bug in readconf.c: options->use_privileged_port is always set to 0 regardless of whether -P is specified or not. This has the effect that RhostsAuthentication is disabled even if "RhostsAuthentication yes" is specified. The (trivial) patch is appended below. Solaris wtmpx patch
Hi, Solaris (tested with 2.6) needs a username in the logout record in the wtmpx file. Currently openssh (version 2.3.0p1) leaves the username (utmpx.ut_user) empty in logout records, which leads to conflicting results from the last command. Example: # last -5 siegert siegert pts/186 stikine.ucs.sfu. Mon Jan 15 14:26 still logged in siegert pts/105 stikine.ucs.sfu. Mon Jan 15

multinom question
I'd like to fit a multinomial log-linear model for 4 categories of the form log[(P(D=i | X)/P(D=0 | X)] = alpha_i + X beta_i ; i=1,2,3 but with beta_1 constrained to zero. Is there a way to impose such a constraint in the multinom function? Brad ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brad McNeney email: mcneney at stat.sfu.ca

problem with glm (PR#452)
I'm having sporadic problems with glm on my alpha workstation running Compaq Tru64 UNIX V5.0 (I can't replicate the problem on my Linux PC). I have the same problem whether I use a version of R built with the native C-compiler or a version compiled with gcc. In both cases I've built with g77. I want to do some simulations with a call to glm in each rep. A simplified version would be

Samba 3beta3 and NETAPP filer - cannot join domain [long]
Hi, when trying to get a Netapp filer (multi protocol) to join a domain controlled by samba 3.0.0beta3 with ldapsam backend, I ran into a "small" problem - the filer won't join the domain. So we set up another server with samba 3.0.0beta3 using tdbsam(?) as the passwd backend - and lo, the filer is able to join the domain. Both "joins" are NT4 joins - as the filer

Samba 3.0.x and Netapp filers
Hi ! Siemens is migrating away from Windows fileservers to Netapp Filers. First I thought great thats cool get rid of some more MS boxes... But now I face troubles connecting to the shares on the filers. Our support states a cite from netapp as: "samba is not compliant with the specs" Could anyone suply me with ammunition to counter that or knows why the netapp does not allow to

smbclient using SMB2+ against NetApp OnTap 8.2 anyone ?
So I just spent a frustrating day trying to get smbclient from 4.2.x and master connecting to a NetApp 8.2 box using SMB2 or SMB3 with NTLM auth. Short answer - it doesn't work :-(. Longer answer - the NetApp is choking on something inside the SPNEGO NTLMSSP packets we're sending it - giving the error that it couldn't parse the SPNEGO packet. Unfortunately (and knowing bugger-all

Oracle on NetApp
Hello, Anyone using or tested Oracle (OLTP load) on NetApp? Connected via Fibre Channel not NFS. Performance is good or should we better stay with "classic" SAN storage like HP EVA or similar boxes from EMC or Hitachi? In EMC test papers NetApp does not look good. In NetApp papers - vice versa. :) So I'm somewhat confused. I remember someone in this list saying that

NetApp unable to join samba PDC
Hello there I've just been trying to get a NetApp FAS2020, DataOnTap 7.2.5.1 to join our domain. No luck so far . The PDC is samba 3.2.4 with ldap backend. I created the account manually and when I try to join the NetApp I get these in the samba logs.
