Can' t delete printjobs spooled in cups
Hi, i learned a lot about cups, samba and printerdrivers the last few days and hours. I found a lot of mistakes but i can't change the following situation: I CAN NOT delete printjobs! I can connect to the printers, automatic download the driver, print, stop the printer, start the printer. Any tips, links, hints would be nice. My setup: Debian Sarge - Samba 3.0.14a - Cups 1.1.23. nss_ldap

exact insecurity of --bypass-security ?
Hello! First, nice peace of work, thx ;->> After some production server crashes with a far too early version of FreeSWAN (abaout 3 years ago) and the unwillingness to get an OpenSSL expert just to build a VPN, I was happy to read about the rather simple configuration of tinc ("Linux Magazin", a monthly Linux paper published in Germany, gave an overview of free VPN solutions in

cups / samba job control issue
Hi all, I am using cups 1.1.22 with samba 2.2.12 along with winbind, and samba configured as a domain member. For now I'm not able to switch to samba3. My problem is that users printing from windows are unable to control their jobs. Pause, resume or cancel do not work. In windows, the "error processing command" is returned. In cups, when viewing /var/log/cups/access.log, I'll

Released Pigeonhole v0.2.1 for Dovecot v2.0.4
Hello Dovecot users, There haven't been that many Pigeonhole developments lately, not even really significant bugs were reported. That is why this release is pretty small in terms of changes. However, one issue got some attention: the fact that not recompiling Pigeonhole for Dovecot v2.0.3 would result in rather interesting message delivery. Normally, Dovecot would complain about a

usermap confusion (":" or "=")
According to http://us3.samba.org/samba/docs/man/Samba-HOWTO-Collection/NetCommand.html#id2571949there should a be ":" between a users UNIX login and their Windows login in the "username map" file, is that correct? According to the man page there should be an "=" between them. The reason I ask is because I am trying to get username maps to work in Samba

remote groups as members of a samba ldap group
I've gotten Samba+LDAP working on one network, and trust relationship established with a remote AD network. I've also got my samba groups as members of the AD groups (eg, Samba "users" is a member of AD "users", with the ACL stuff working as expected). Going the other direction seems somewhat non-obvious however. Somehow, I will need to include the winbind groups as

Windows printer drivers
Hello everyone. My name is Bruno and I'm setting up a CentOS-based print server. This is the only GNU/Linux machine on our network, which serves something like 30 Windows XP/7 clients. I've already installed and configured CUPS and Samba. Very basic configuration. Also, I have already added our printers to CUPS. But now I don't know how to download Windows printer drivers to my print

Incoming External Trust
I'm running a Samba domain (Samba 3.4.7) with OpenLDAP. I also have an Server 2003 AD domain, and want to set up an external trust so that AD users can access resources on the Samba domain, but not visa versa (I believe this is called a one-way incoming external trust). I'm not finding a lot of information out there that makes sense. Does anybody have any hints? -- Aaron Clausen

Using Windows ACL on a samba3 share
Hello folks, I have some directories within a samba 3.x share which I want to give granulated security settings for various users and groups. I could use of course "setfacl" and POSIX ACLs to accomplish that, but some of these ACL should be also able to be set by some users. These users of course has no access to my linux host where samba3 is running, so they only can do that by
