NT_STATUS_NETWORK_ACCESS_DENIED for a single user
I've a "special" user (it has nothing special, just this exception) in a group that cannot access a share. I check share access using UNIX permissions. This is the share definition: [progettazione] comment = progettazione path = /dati/progettazione writeable = yes browseable = Yes directory mask = 0770 create mask = 0775

Using Samba to Mount User Shares as Linux Home Dirs?
I'm trying to get a linux machine integrated into an all-Windows network. Following the instructions of the *wonderful* Official Samba-3 HOWTO, I was able to get the machine to authenticate with the ADS. I can also allow domain users to log into the linux machine. What I would like to do now is have a way for the users' network share/home directory in the window environment to be

Folder Redirection, Roaming Profiles and Working Offline
Hi, I have been trying to use samba for a while as a way to have an identical desktop/startmenu/profile/favourites/etc on multiple PCs. Samba is setup as the PDC and I can join the domain and login. The problems started firstly when I wanted to have some sort of caching and also logon concurrently to different pcs with the same user. The main problem being that whichever computer I log off

[LLVMdev] Inlining
OK, I wanted to understand function inlining in LLVM but had avoided going to the effort of finding out if the inlining was really happening. The advice I got to "use the assembly source, Luke" suggested I go ahead and investigate inlining for a bit of practice, since (so I figured) even a monkey with really weak x86-fu could tell whether a function call was happening or not. If this

Problem with Samba 3 as member server in Win2K/ADS domain
Hi, I'm having problems getting Samba 3 working in a Win2K/ADS domain. I don't want Samba to be a PDC - just a member server. I have two boxes, aquarius (Windows 2000 Server DC) and gemini (Debian Linux, current development version) I do both a kinit, and a net ads join successfully, but if I try to access shares on the DC, I get: # smbclient -k -L aquarius added interface

Setting home path to a dir within a users Linux home dir
Is there a trick to append an additional directory level onto the defauly behavior of a [homes] share looking in /etc/passwd to find the users Linux home dir? It would offer a bit of protection if Windows clients ended up in say the WinHome directory within their Linux home directory when logging in from Windows so they are not tempted to tamper with their desktop settings files for Linux from

Failed to modify entry for user in samba with tdb backend
Hi Samba List I have the problem to modify an entry for a user in samba with tdb backend. My OS is OpenSuSE 13.1, Samba 4.1.21. No the problem is, I can't modify the user because he does not exists, but can not add, because he exists. The problem

First impressions of iRiver iHP120
Battery life sucks. This may be due to three factors: 1. It was the first charge that the machine had 2. Playing Vorbis takes more battery power than MP3 3. The battery is a bit rubbish More considered opinions to follow. CD ripper software
I've been having problems with Audiograbber, it got the track breaks all wrong on a couple of CDs. I think it re-used the track breaks from the first CD when reading subsequent CDs. Does anyone have any recommendations for a good CD ripper? I've also tried Exact Audio Copy, but didn't get on with it very well. Phil Hibbs Cap Gemini Ernst & Young Aston, UK

Hello, thanks, and how do I...
First of all, congratulations on the success of the Ogg Vorbis format - I am now the proud owner of an Ogg player (iRiver iHP120). Any starting advice for a newbie Ogger would be appreciated! I have ripped about 16 albums with Audiograbber, Ogged them, and loaded them onto the player. The first problem I found was that Exact Audio Copy was reading silence, so I junked that. The second is that one

If I come from the same subnet as the server is on, I've have no problems. But When I try via the Internet I doesn't. If I run snoop I can see I get contact with the server:
