unable to build pam_winbind on Solaris 9
Greetings,
Still trying to get Samba 3.0.15pre2 built on a Solaris 9 box with PAM
support. I am using gcc 3.3.2 and I have openldap-2.2.24, krb5-1.4, and
Cyrus SASL 2.1.20 installed.
I have found other posting by people with problems building on Solaris
as well as asking about the "_pam_macros.h" file that seems to be
missing on Solaris. Posting about problems, but not with

winbind cache time?
Hello,
according to 'man smb.conf': Default: winbind cache time = 300
I have not changed it in smb.conf, but when I remove some user
from some group, command "groups DOMAIN+user" still shows
that user belongs to the group even after a few hours after removing
the user from that group. Any ideas why?
samba 3.0.15pre2.

ldap filter removed?
In the release notes for 3.0.20rc1, I noticed the following:
Changes since 3.0.15pre2

ldap filter Removed
I'm curious as to why this was removed and if there's another
alternative. Our samba setup makes use of the ldap filter to restrict

libsmbclient - detect own workgroup
Hi,
I would like to know if there's a way to detect the workgroup of my own server with libsmbclient.
With earlier versions than 3.0.20 it was possible to use smbctx->workgroup after the context was initialized.
Since 3.0.15pre2 or so its always "WORKGROUP". Am I missing something?

work with ldap. I switched up to 3.0.15pre2 and had much the same
trouble. I have been following the instructions in
http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/Samba-Guide.pdf, but I am still having
troubles.
Here is what happens when i run smbldap-populate:

Hello,
I've tested Xen 4.2 on CentOS 6.3(x86_x64)
My goal is to connect to Windows VM on Xen 4.2 using SPICE client.
Installation of Xen 4.2 was successful.
Also creating Windows VM using qemu-dm and connecting to it using VNC are OK.
But qemu-dm can't support SPICE, so I installed upstream qemu. (http://wiki.xen.org/wiki/QEMU_Upstream)
I also installed spice-server and spice-protocol

Windows Server 2003 SP1 Issues (3.0.15pre2)
Hi All,
I'm running into some issues accessing a Samba server that's in turn
authenticating against a Win2k3-SP1 domain controller (security=ads). I
understand there were some known issues corrected in a patch, and I'm
currently running 3.0.15pre2, which I understand includes that patch.

Support for SLES9
Support for SLES9 seems to be pretty much lacking at the moment.
The OCFS2 site [1] states OCFS2 is supported with SP2+. There actually
does not exist a SP2+ for SLES9 (or should this rather read "will be
supported in SP3" instead?).
Latest RPMs that come with SLES9 SP2 are 0.99.14 which has critical known
bugs and is unusable.
Anybody got to compile current source on SLES9 x86_64?

Struggling to define multiple yum/rug repositories
My head hurts from trying to figure this out for the past several hours . . .
I want to determine what provider to use based on a fact (thanks for
the suse version fact btw) but I ain''t gettin it:
What''s wrong? Am I going down the completely wrong path? Is there a better way?

Documentation clarification re: SLES9 and nsswitch
Hello,
I've been unable to succeed with Samba-Ldap setup on SLES9 until this
evening.
I thought I had a PAM issue but that was not the case.
To cut to the chase, I ran Yast's 'ldap-server' module without any changes
as it found the ldap server settings.
Once finished I could join the domain from XP Pro which is what I was
unable to do. I checked what Yast did and it
reset

ocfs on sles9
Haven't really tried this yet, but I'm wondering what the direction is
for official ocfs support on SLES9. Anyone know if there are plans to
support OCFS 1.x on sles9 at some point? I know it's a 2.6 kernel
instead of 2.4...
thanks,
Jeremy

Cannot Install SLES9-SP4 Para DomU on SLES10-SP1 Dom0
We are trying to install a 32-bit SLES9-SP4 paravirtual machine on a 64-bit SLES10-SP1 Dom0 host from scratch.
We have two problems:
1. The YaST2 VM creation tool fails to create a vm if a network card is selected.
2. The initial vm boots from the SLES9-SP4 iso file, but then complains it can''t find the installation source.
Here is the /etc/xen/vm/file (after manually editing for a
