CIFS & Gigabit Eth - 35MB/sec limit
Hi honorable people! In self-education purposes only, I would like to ask is 35 Mbytes/sec bandwidth limitation of SMB/CIFS in Gigabit applications? I've try read large file (45GB) from server to client's dev/nul and don't get bandwidth greater than specified... But, using FTP or NFS I get REAL stable read speed at 80 MB/sec! Same picture in synthetic TCP tests. Why while SMB in

Result of "net rpc user info" differents from "net ads user info"?
I have tried for several accounts (below is one of them), "net ads" always reports less 1 item than "net rpc"? (The result of "net rpc" is same with the AD's setting) Any hints? Thanks in advance. OT: Gigabit Rated Eth Cables - Cat 6 v. Gigatrue
Hi, In populating our racks with several gigbit switches over the next few days, i'm wondering this: Is it over-engineering to seek out 550mhz rated cables over the typical Cat 6 250mhz rated cables? I've been advised (if you can a salesperson's words advice, heh.) that 250mhz is enough to handle traffic up to 10GB's. Should I just be happy with Cat6 for my GB switches or is

Why replacement has length zero? And How can I fix it?
Hi for the loop section runif needs curved brackets Try IAP <-NA for (i in 1:Sample.Size){ if (DataSet$SES[i]>0) { IAP[i] <- ifelse(runif(1)>0.75, 1, 0) # High SES, higher chance to be in Treatment # } else { IAP[i] <- ifelse(runif(1)<=0.25, 1, 0) # Low SES, lower chance to be in Treatment # } } # End loop # IAP IAP zjiaqi19880219 wrote > Hi,

Problem with compatible library versions
On the github website I have reported several bugs with new versions of the tidyverse group (probably dplyr) which prevent me from using R normally. I wanted to go back to older versions but this seems not bo be easy. I downloaded R 4.1.2. and Rtools 40 but the library versions installed are still the newest ones. I was able to install dplyr 1.0.7. manually but there are error messages on

can't read attachments using javamail with dovecot
Dear folks, this might be a java-bug, but it seems to occur only when connecting to dovecot-IMAP. UW and Cyrus-ditto works, while when I try to read attachments (base64), I get slapped in the face with this: java.lang.NullPointerException at com.sun.mail.iap.Response.parse(Response.java:99) at com.sun.mail.iap.Response.<init>(Response.java:68) at

[LLVMdev] question about printAliasInstr
I am considering using MipsInstPrinter::printAliasInstr, which is auto-generated in MipsGenAsmWriter.inc, to print assembly idioms defined as instruction aliases. For example, an instruction which used to be printed as "nor $1, $2, $zero" can be printed as "not $1, $2" This is nice because it makes the code printed by code-gen or disassembler more readable. However, the

Expected transfer rate of samba, SATA over gigabit to SATA
What is a good transfer rate to expect when writing from Windows XP/Vista to a samba network share in the following situation? * New client. Intel Core 2 Duo 6600 with 4GB memory, and Intel gigabit NIC. * New server. HP XW8400 with (currently) a single 5335 Xeon with 4GB memory, and integrated Intel gigabit. Running samba 3.0.25b, as included with CentOS (RHEL). * Netgear GS116 (gigabit)

exop vs md5
WHat is the significance to Samba of pam_password exop vs pam_password md5 in ldap.conf? The reason I ask is that, wherever possible, I prefer to use the vendor supplied tools for manipulating config files. With Fedora 3 it's system-config-authentication and it doesn't give you the option of exop. You either enable MD5, which puts pam_password md5 in ldap.conf, or disable it, which puts

Gigabit Ethernet and samba network bandwidth
Hi all, I am notice strange behaviour of samba in our mixed fastEthernet/gigabitEthernet enviroment. First of all let me to describe our situation. We have a samba server running debian unstable with 2.6.3 kernel installed. Server has a gigabit copper connection (tg3 driver) to the 100/1000 Megabit switch (3COM 4228G). Client is a WinXP/Linux workstation connected by ordinary 100 Megabit

domU with gigabit ethernet or recommendations?
Dear Xen Users, I have a rhel5 dom0 machine with four nics, two public and two private. My goal is to run two xen instances, a fully virtualized rhel4(with a custom kernel, hence the fully virtualized) and a paravirtualized rhel5. Each instance will need one public and one private nic with gigabit connectivity. At the moment I''m simply bridging two nics to each instance. Is this the

Xen 3.3 network support for Intel 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection
Hi, folks I installed Xen 3.3 on my Lenovo T400 notebook, via compiling source code. When I boot from the linux xen 2.6.18, the network fails start and xend fails too. The network adaptor is Intel 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection. Does anybody else get the same problem? I cannot figure it out whether this is caused by driver support of xen or faulty configuration. Need your help and thanks a

is "Gb" gigabyte or gigabit?
I sometimes get errors of this form: Error: cannot allocate vector of size 13.8 Gb I've also seen "Gb" used in R documents. Is "Gb" being used to refer to gigabyte? We usually refer to bytes and gigabytes when discussing memory usage, but the lowercase "b" more often refers to bits. According to Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gigabyte

airlink gigabit ethernet card
Hello Xen users, I want to purchase some gigabit ethernet cards. Our local Fry''s is having a $5.99 special on Airlink gigabit PCI cards with the Realtek chipset. Any experiences with this chipset vis-a-vis xen that would preclude its use? Gigabit Ethernet with multiple VLAN's or Fast Ehternet and with two separate cards?
Hello everyone. What's better for Asterisk: have 2 distinct 100Mb network cards in the system, one on the "internet" and one on the "local net" OR have one 1000Mb network card with 2 separate VLAN's set up? It's a difficult decision because 2 cards are using 2 IRQ's etc but a single 1000Mb card might generate more PCI interrupts and get me into different

Popular Gigabit Phones
Most manufacturers charge in excess of $80 to upgrade from a 10/100 switch to a 10/100/1000 switch built into the phone. The cost might have been in the chipset 5 years ago but I can get a 5 port gigabit switch for $30. What are most folks using for people that need gigabit to the desktop and don't want to run another cable? -Matt
