[OT] how do I remove a battery
I've got an MSI K9N Platinum MS 7250 VER 1.1
motherboard with a dead battery.
The battery mounts vertically:
http://www.cs.ndsu.nodak.edu/~hennebry/computer/battery.png
To me, the tab on the right would seem to need moving.
It does not want to move.
I am reluctant to apply any more force than I
already have without knowing how to apply it.
How do I remove the battery?

Back Button Blues?
I know that this subject has been brought up a few times in this forum,
and I have seen the ONJava.com article (plan to print it out and read it
entirely after work). Most of the posts are from at least 4 months ago.
Has there been any development in this area? Are there any example sites
out there that use the ONJava example, or another example... or better
yet has anyone written a RoR

Ogg Vorbis Blues
Re: my other post (without a subject) sorry for that...
I think I solved the problem by disabling the "clipping protection" in the
winamp plugin properties...weird!

scp -r blues
Hi there,
I'm using the latest stable release of open-ssh, and scp, and am having
a problem...
I want to use scp to backup some important files on a publically visible
server.
Everything seems fine, except for two details:
1) scp will not copy a core file. This server is used for devel, and the
occasional core file is created. scp almost always coughs on such files,
and stops.
2) scp -r

DISPLAY=unix:10.0 and localhost blues
I have just finished battling with this and noticed it
has been reported on HP systems too.
Problem ist, if you have an sshrc file with:
XKEY=`cat -`
-n "$DISPLAY" && $XAUTH add $DISPLAY $XKEY
then with SSH 3.1 this mysteriously fails, as the
DISPLAY is now localhost:10.0 instead of $HOST:10.0
I imagine the reasoning behind the change is to
accomodate hosts that have no

call forwarding when busy - single pots blues
Hello,
Scottstuff.net has an example to "forward calls when
busy" to a nufone 800. My telco will allow me to do
this for a 5$/month charge. :( No luck duplicating
Scott's example, or playing with the
ChanIsAvail/cut/forward. Since everything can be done
with asterisk, can anyone slap me upside the dome?

WMP blues :^(
Hello Everybody,
I'm having the strangest problem getting WMP 10 to stream from my
icecast server.
I'm currently serving two streams - one is a 128kbit/s mp3 stream,
the other is a 32kbit/s mp3 stream
Even when explicitly declaring the stream type to be http in
icecast.xml , the 32kbit/s stream buffers *VERY* slowly (it takes
about 3-5 min) in WMP before finally playing.

G'Day,
I'm a little confused why the c function has the followng effect on
classes - is this a feature ? My workround [ class(cc) <- c("POSIXt",
"POSIXct") ] seems to do the job.
Many thanks

Samba 3b3, cups117 and point-n-click blues. Looks like Samba bug? HELP!
Hi all,
Having a very strange problem here. I'm on RH9,
using samba 3.0b3, cups 1.1.7, and a canon 1000sp
printer. The printer itself doesn't matter. I've
verified this on 2 seperate machines and I get the
same problem. After reading everything there is...
I setup a printer in CUPS. A-ok.
I setup a printer in smb.conf (printing section):

Fedora 14 and Samba 3.4.11 compile/install blues
I been reading everything I could find about Samba PDC and getting
Windows 7 to join a domain and thought I'd try a little test before
trying it in a prod env.
I installed Fedora 14 32-bit on a spare machine without Samba. Then
tried to compile and install Samba 3.4.11. On the configure, make, and
make install, nothing stopped because of errors and all seemed to go well.
The next thing I

memory blues
G'Day again,
I am attempting to read a large MSAccess file into R, but get memory
problems. With the first 100 rows of the table ("Macca99") things, as
shown below, are fine and the resulting object is 33,780 bytes. But when I
read the entire table ("MaccaDiv99") which is 218,000 rows R falls over
with the message:

RODBC & POSIX & Daylight Saving blues
Dear All,
The recent improvement in RODBC to recognize datetimes in tables has
exposed my ongoing confusion.
All my data are obtained from a satellite system (Argos) which tags events
in the GMT time zone. Daylight saving is ignored. To my way of thinking
this means that
1. twelve-o-clock means halfway through the day regardless of season, and
2. the difftime of any two dates where

USB blues
I have a freshly built, updated EL6 system and am having problems with
USB stability - at boot everything works fine but within a few hours,
USB devices start disappearing randomly. At first I though the USB
devices were suspect, but removing the suspect devices and an accessory
PCIE USB card hasn't changed anything. As of now, a single USB device is
working. (which is lucky, it hosts the

Samba 3b3, cups117 and point-n-click blues. Looks like Samba bug? HELP! part 2
I've attempted to do the same using Win2k's APW. At
first it looks like it's going to work, but at the
very last part it gives an access denied error. It
gives the errors AFTER it copies all the files to the
server...
Here's the log.spleen (my win2k is spleen):

term vector blues
I have a lot of crashes when I try to use term vectors. Here''s an
example, which crashes pretty consistently. This problem seems to be
somewhat sensitive to platform... people on other OS''s and ruby versions
have reported no error. I have seen this with ferret 0.10.13 and 0.10.14
on debian stable using ruby 1.8.2, but I have observed the same problem
on various other systems as

Can I put limits on the lm() command? I only know that you can choose a
liniar model with or without an intercept, but can I put other limits on
the coefficients (for example- the intercept must be bigger than 1) ?
