Trust between SAMBA and NT server
Hello, I'm having problems getting the SAMBA domain to trust an NT domain. The following is how I went about the exercise: 1. On the NT domain, I added the SAMBA domain A/C in the TRUSTING DOMAINS list, providing a certain password. 2. On the SAMBA domain, I executed the following command feeding the same password given in step 1, but without success: [root@cobra root]# net rpc trustdom

samba 2.0.6 on HP-UX 11.0
I've had samba running cleanly on an HP-UX 11.0 system for many months, with "DOMAIN" security and one-to-one account name mapping. A few days ago I started getting password prompts on connection, and messages like this in the log files... [2003/01/02 15:46:36, 0] rpc_parse/parse_prs.c:(316) prs_mem_get: reading data of size 60 would overrun buffer. [2003/01/02 15:46:36, 0]

rpc trust gives NT_STATUS_INVALID_HANDLE with 3.0.11
When I try to establish a trust from SAMBA 3.0.11 to Windows 2003 I get the error: NT_STATUS_INVALID_HANDLE. I have no problem the other way. I had no problem either, when I ran SAMBA 3.0.9, and the problem disappeared when I down-graded to 3.0.9. Here is what happens ('CALYPSO' is the Windows-server and 'KONTOR' is its domain-name): [root@linux /root]# net rpc trustdom

Symlinks in OS X (10.4.1)
Hi, is there a way to ignore the permissions for symlinks but compare the permissions for regular files and change them accordingly? The problem is that using OS X every time I run rsync it tries to update the permissions for the symlinks but the changes are not made since OS X has no support for symlink permissions. Therefore it would like to somehow ignore symlink permissions. Thanks, Mario
