SCO OpenServer 5.0.6a and missing libncurses.so.4 (fwd)
You can download Ncurses for SCO OpenServer via ftp://ftp2.caldera.com/pub/skunkware/osr5/vols/ncurses-4.2-VOLS.tar This is a tar archive of media images suitable for installation with the SCO Software Manager (/etc/custom). get_share_modes problem
I have samba 2.0.5a running on Openserver 5.0.5 with the latest patches installed. I got this specific version from Skunkware (SCO's distribution of Open Source binary packages). AFAIK, they make no changes to the actual source. I have no problems with using samba for name service and printing, however with file sharing I am having some strange problems. I sporadically get problems like

Samba Open Server 5 package?
Hello, I'm having trouble installing Samba on a SCO Open Server 5 system. I have gone over the Skunkware CD and the Caldera Website. I can find TAR'd versions of SAMBA but for some reason it won't let me start smbd or nmbd without giving me a core dump. Does anyone know either 1. why I'm getting the core dumps or 2. If there is a package install for OSv5. The reason I ask

SAMBA digest 2289
I also set up samba 2.0.5a (binaries from Skunkware) on a SCO 5.0.5 server. I have a conf file, but it's on my laptop, and that's downstairs, and I'm about to get ready to leave, so I'll dig it up later. :) From what I remember though, all I changed was: - the workgroup name, - turned off browse master - turned off the printing system - set the guest user to 'nouser'

issues with 3.0.14a domain member after 2003 dc upgrade
Hello list, Recently I've rebuilt our Windows 2000 DCs to Windows 2003 SP1 DCs that my 3.0.14a, mit-krb5-1.3.6, openldap-2.1.30 Gentoo box is a part of. Since then, on the Samba box I can getent group, getent passwd, wbinfo -t, wbinfo -g, wbinfo -u, etc. properly but anyone who accesses the shares on the Samba member server gets prompted for a password. The logs are as follows:
