Problem reading large tables
Hi, I'm trying to read in a fairly large (92 observations by 3680 variables) table into R from a space-delimited text file (attached) using the command: d8 <- read.table('d8.r', header=T). The function call runs to completion, and I get back a valid table object. However, starting at column 999, the table records the value TRUE when it should record T (T's in columns 998 and

Samba 3.0.20b / AIX 5.3 / VFS Modules
Has anyone successfully gotten the VFS modules to work under AIX 5.3 and Samba 3.0.x ? I have no problem compiling Samba 3.0.x and having it working; but when I set up a VFS module the following occurs: 1. In the log file I see: [2005/11/09 15:45:02, 0] lib/fault.c:fault_report(36) =============================================================== [2005/11/09 15:45:02, 0]

samba with ADS. winbindd ignore for user authentication
Hello, I'm trying to set up samba using ADS for authentication. I can successfully join the samba machine to the domain. Windows hosts can "see" the samba machine. After successfully joining, doing: # wbinfo -u shows me ADS-defined users. Same goes for groups. However, when I try and assign one of those users ownership of a file, I get: # chown user1 /tmp/test chown: test1:

Error loading LDAP functions, even though they are compiled in
Hi, I'm trying to use LDAP as my passdb backend, but having no luck, seemingly because the LDAP code doesn't load, even though I have compiled in LDAP support. I am getting the following error: [2004/07/13 07:58:29, 2] passdb/pdb_interface.c:make_pdb_methods_name(654) No builtin backend found, trying to load plugin [2004/07/13 07:58:29, 3] lib/module.c:do_smb_load_module(46) Error

samba and squid are not working together
Hello folks, I am implementing on a RH Fedora Core Linux machine NTLM authentication through samba 3.0.2 for my squid server (Squid-2.5STABLE5-2). Our customer's environment is Mixed Mode Windows 2000. To make a long story short: (1) I have successfully upgraded kerberos from 1.2.7 to 1.3.3 (I was successful because I also upgraded the libraries that kerberos 1.3.3 requires (2) I have

force group broken in 3.0.14?
I've got some problems with file access control on a linux-server with samba 3.0.14a compiled from a src-rpm. This is the method I've been using for the past 5-6 releases. It's a redhat 8.0 machine and the kernel version is 2.4.30. The problems seem to have appeared since upgrading from 3.0.13. Symptom 1: When using force group on a share, users from the two groups edb and

Samba fails with no apparent message
I had to reinstall my system, and for some reason samba doesn't work. It's a mandriva 2005 system, 2.6.11-6mdk. I'm using a very very minimal smb.conf: load printers = no [global] workgroup = WKG netbios name = MYNAME [share1] path = /tmp [share2] path = /my_shared_folder comment = Some random files Here's most of the -d 10 log: get_current_groups: user is in 1 groups: 0 smbd

Samba 3.0.2a - Erroneously rejects NTLMv2 but accepts NTLM
Hello experts, I?ll try and keep this brief but detailed (if that?s possible.). I?m sure I don?t understand the technologies sufficiently but I believe I?m seeing counter-intuitive behavior with my Samba 3 setup. What I want is nice, tight Win 2K3 security. What I?ve got is ADS integration, including domain user authentication using winbind, but I can?t get the security level right. Problem

Access denied changing file attributes
Hi! I've been tearing my hair out trying to get DOS file attributes to work with Samba. Basically, I have it all set up so the user mbolingbroke (me) can write to this Supernova Backup share I have - this all works fine. However, since this is going to backup my Windows machine I want to preserve the file attributes. To this end, I've set up mapping of the attributess using "map

Samba as ADS Fileserver
Dear All I've been working at building a file server to provide file sharing for a Windows 2003 Active Directory Domain. Our requirements are for the Windows Server Administrator to be able to create all the users' home folders in the Samba share and apply restrictive permissions. Ie. User joe, //samba/joe$ or //samba/share/joe (Dfs), with permissions for only the user "joe"

How to set fromuser in sip.conf so each user gets it's own callerid?
I'm a first time user of Asterisk and have a working setup which I find clumsy. How can I clean things up to make the dialplan easier to maintain? My problem ========== I have 6 public numbers that can reach 6 individual users. I have 6 lines like this in sip.conf: [general] register => 31307115622:secret@belcentrale-incoming/622 .... register =>

Can't read dovecot.conf
Hello all, I'm attempting to run dovecot on an HP-UX 11.11 system ... the built went fine, and I've got the program installed. I copied dovecot-example.conf to dovecot.conf and made a few changes to it, then went to sbin and ran the dovecot binary to see what would happen. What happened was this: colin:/usr/local/dovecot/sbin# ./dovecot Error: Error in configuration file

Fact auto sync reloading
So we run puppetd as a long running ruby process on the hosts. When we update a fact that gets auto sync''d to the host it seems when puppetd wakes up and starts its catalog run it doesn''t re-sync the facts. It you run it standalone it will or if you restart the service then it will do the right thing. Do other people see this? Or have you all gone to running out of cron?

2nd try: Lots of RPC-related compile errors (conflicting types, too many arguments, ...) trying to update Samba from 3.5 to 4.6
Hello Andrew, and many thanks for your fast reply! :-) Am 08.06.2017 um 11:05 schrieb Andrew Bartlett: > I think the key to avoiding the issue is that you have listed rpc > modules which are not modules. Hi... I posted a few days ago that I was having trouble getting samba 3.0.14a to work with ldap. I switched up to 3.0.15pre2 and had much the same trouble. I have been following the instructions in http://www.samba.org/samba/docs/Samba-Guide.pdf, but I am still having troubles. Here is what happens when i run smbldap-populate: mercury:/usr/local/samba/sbin# ./smldap-populate -a root -k 0 -m 0
