Samba Password Problems (Alt-Characters)
Good Afternoon All: Here is the setup: A RedHat 7.2 Samba 2.2.7 Server upgraded to Fedora Core 1 Samba 3.0.6-2.FC1. The server is acting as the PDC. No Windows servers are providing authentication. Windows 2000 clients. testparm -v | grep "unix charset" results in UTF-8. locale charmap results in ISO-8859-1. using smbpasswd. Before upgrading the server, I was able to authenticate

domain login problem
Hi, I have a Red Hat AS3 PDC server running Samba 3.0.0. I have Linus workstations and Windows 2000 workstations. Some not all of my Windows 2000 workstations will not let any user login to the domain. Says username or password is incorrect. If you create a local user account on the workstation and login as that user you can get to all shares and there are no problems. I also have a problem with

directory permissions
I have just finished replacing a client's Windows / Exchange / IIS setup here with Samba / [Postfix, UW Imap] / Apache and I've run into an issue. In this setup, Samba acts as PDC, so there are NO WINDOWS SERVERS - only win clients. One of the apps that they run seems to explicitly require that the user own the folder that they are saving to. In their prior setup, this was easy, as

Forensics related ZFS questions
1. Does variable FSB block sizing extend to files larger than record size, concerning the last FSB allocated? In other words, for files larger than 128KB, that utilize more than one full recordsize FSB, will the LAST FSB allocated be ''right-sized'' to fit the remaining data, or will ZFS allocate a full recordsize FSB for the last ''chunk'' of the file? (This is

Function reference
Hi. I'm looking for an R equivalent to something like function pointers in C/C++. I have a search procedure that evaluates the fitness of each point it reaches as it moves along, and decides where to move next based on its fitness evaluation. I want to be able to pass different fitness functions to this procedure. I am trying to find a good way to do this. I was thinking of passing in

Strange result in survey package: svyvar
Hi R users, I'm using the survey package to calculate summary statistics for a large health survey (the Demographic and Health Survey for Honduras, 2006), and when I try to calculate the variances for several variables, I get negative numbers. I thought it may be my data, so I ran the example on the help page: data(api) ## one-stage cluster sample dclus1<-svydesign(id=~dnum, weights=~pw,

expire plugin + --exec-mail in 1.2.6 version
Hello list, After upgrade to dovecot version 1.2.6 I have noticed some quota malfunctions(users become often overquota). Looking at logs closely I have found that quota value resets to general dovecot-config( quota = maildir:Mailbox quota quota_rule = *:storage=500M quota_rule2 = Trash:storage=10%% ), after dovecot --exec-mail ext /usr/libexec/dovecot/expire-tool.sh command. Queue Agents on Remote Asterisk server?
Hi, I have a main Asterisk server, and a server at a branch location connected via a IAX2 trunk. I want to have a queue at the main location that has people from both locations as members. I got this working, but the trouble comes when the round-robin logic selects a member at the branch office to call. If that user is unavailable, their voicemail answers the call, and the main server

Lines for plot (Sweave)
Dear List: I am generating a series of plots iteratively using Sweave. In short, a dataframe is subsetted row by row and variable graphics are created conditional on the data in each row. In this particular case, this code ends up generating 17,000 individual plots. In some cases, all student data (this is working with student achievement data) are available and my code below works very well in

studentized deleted residuals and NA's
Dear R-Help, I am using the studres function from the MASS package to compute studentized deleted residuals in a oneway anova. I'm having trouble interpreting the results in situations where a factor level has only one observation. Sometimes studres yields an NaN and sometimes it produces a numeric value for cases where a factor level has only one observation. I would think it should

PXE problem after CentOS reboot
Dear folks, We are installing a large diskless cluster using CentOS 5.1. The hardware is pretty new - Supermicro X7DWT boards with Harpertown CPUs. Unfortunately we have some PXE-related problems described by the following scenario: 1) Set up DHCP, TFTP and NFS on a server, prepare PXE kernel and initrd - fine. 2) Start up the node using PXE for the first time - fine. 3) Reboot the node - PXE
