dfs problems in 3.0.25a after client reboot and remapping
Hi guys, I haven't seen any replies to this, but im seeing the exact same
thing with Fedora 7 samba (with all the currently available patches).
using winbind into a an ADS realm.
My samba is 3.0.25b.
Clients are XP, 2003 r2 SE and EE 32bit, 2003 r2 SE 64 bit. All work ok
for a while, then suddenly start doing the same as below.
I.e., when mapped it looks fine, then some time in the future

Windows 10 clients slow remapping drives and somewhat inconsistent in reconnecting to the saved map drives
Hello,
I'm a long term samba user through many different flavors from FreeBSD to Linux. My latest is using Ubuntu 16.04 with its older version of the 4.2 series of samba as an AD DC and separate 4.2 series file server. In my small test environment the Samba 4.2 AD DC and the Samba 4.2 file server are different LXC containers on the same host.
I've worked through many of the

Is there any problem that can arise from remapping gidNumber?
This morning I remapped gidNumber from primaryGroupID to gidNumber. I
did that because I could not change the integer in primaryGroupID wit
ldbedt as root.
I mapped to to a new attribute called gidNumber which has no specific
meaning in samba. Is there any potential problems that can arise from
doing that. Is there a better way to fix that problem?

dfs problems in 3.0.25a after client reboot and remapping
We restored to 3.0.23d after update to 3.0.25a because of strange dfs behavior.
the detailed situation:
on msdfs root server 'samba' ls -lR
dfsroot/:
drwxr-xr-x appl1
dfsroot/appl1
lrwxrwxrwx share1 -> msdfs:server1\share1
[dfs]
comment = "SaMBa DFS root"
path = /path.../dfsroot
# next line does not work prior 3.0.25 !!!

[PATCH] qemu-xen: support PV on HVM MSIX remapping
Support PV on HVM MSIX remapping
The technique is the same used with MSI: if the guest enables an MSIX
passing 0 as vector number, then read the address and use it as pirq
number for the following mapping request to Xen.

Windows Drive Mapping Using Other Credentials & w/Persistence Fails on Reboot But Manually Mapping Works
Samba Experts,
Has anyone ever seen/experienced an issue where a Windows client has a drive mapped with credentials, other than the credentials used to login to the Windows client, to a Samba share with the persistent option selected but after a restart of the Windows client the drive mapping fails.
Therefore, if the drive had been mapped with the credentials of the user logged in to the

Mapped drive behaviour after Windows reboot
Hello,
I was previously using samba-3.3.3 on my linux machine.
I could 'map a drive' from a Windows XP machine to access files on the linux
machine.
If I rebooted the Windows machine, and tried to access the share again by
clicking on the mapped drive icon, I would be denied, but I would be given a
prompt in which to type in a username and password.
The samba log.clients on the linux

Drive namings...
Just wondering if there is a way to get drive namings to change according
to who's logged into the network.
ie.
'bob' logs into windows networking and gets...
E: 'bob' on server kiwi.
Now if 'sue' logs into windows networking on the same pc she gets...
E: 'bob' on server kiwi.
But E: contains sue's stuff. So is there a way into making 'sue'

Remapping Polycom IP501 buttons
Hi,
Just started using an asterisk-based PBX with Polycom IP501 phones. Am
Fairly satisfied and am starting to get into FTP setup of the phones.
Have figured out most things except for how button remapping works.
In sip.cfg, I have this entry:
<keys key.IP_500.31.function.prim="DoNotDisturb"></keys>
This works as expected but if I try to change the remapping to any

[PATCH] [VTD] Add a check for interrupt remapping of ioapic RTE
For IOAPIC interrupt remapping, it only needs to remap ioapci RTE,
should not remap other IOAPIC registers, which are IOAPIC ID, VERSION
and Arbitration ID. This patch adds the check for this and only remap
ioapci RTE.

tftpd-hpa filename remapping
I cannot seem to get the remap-file function of tftpd working right. I can sucessfully place files on the server but the remap feature is not working. I look in the logfile and it has an entry in there for tftpd.
remap: input: startup-config
