SV: Samba + AD etc.
Hi Ross! All our windows-clients works well with Samba 3.0.14a (WinXP and TS 2003 sp1). Perhaps the changes made for ADS SP1 somehow can affect ADS 2003 (without sp1) in the same way that ADS 2003 sp1 did for our Samba 3.0.9. But that is only a wild guess. Regards Roland Carlsson Ps: please answer to the list instead to me. Den 05-05-12 11.00, skrev "sysrm"

I can install more printers, but when cupsaddsmb is running

So I installed all suse rmps for 9.2 (samba 3.0.14) and tested with a few windows boxes and everything works perfektly. No more strange errormessages in the logs about not finding existing users. Now to the problem, when I came back to my own computer, MacOs X 10.4, i suddenly can't use any

Unstable connection to AD
Hi! We got a problem when authenticating our user on our samba-server. It seems like the connection to our ADS drops now and then. When being up it runs very nice. Running "getent passwd" works well and also seems to establish the contact again for a while, atleast winbind stops reporting that users doesn't exist. We have reasonally had reason to reboot our firewall because the

Retraction: security hole in sudo allows users full access
I did not understand the man pages for sudo and incorrectly interpreted the results. I interpreted the ALL to apply to all commands defined in the sudoers file. Basically, I'm an idiot, but here is the chain I followed, and the correct interpretation. In the man pages on sudo, it says the following: A User_List is made up of one or more usernames, uids (prefixed with

Andrew Bartlett said once that 'unix charset = LOCALE' means to force samba to read 'LANG=' from environment. >echo $LANG >en_US >cat /etc/sysconfig/i18n >LANG="en_US.UTF-8" >SUPPORTED="en_US.UTF-8:en_US:en" >SYSFONT="lat1-16" When i restart smbd/nmbd all my files inside all shares change their names. SVN checkout problem
Hello I have problems with checkout using SVN. I am following instructions on page http://us2.samba.org/samba/subversion.html. First of all DNS can't resolve name svnanon.samba.org. I checked nslookup and dig on three different systems using three different providers - my office, T-Online and Litnet. DNS servers for all three providers responded that host name not found. I also got IP
