SV: Error with usrmgr and groups.
It's exactly the same. Except that I use tdbsam instead of ldap and the error message therefore also is different in the log file. But the example and result is the same. Do you have any idea of workaround or fix? getent & winbindd on FreeBSD 5.4
I'm trying to get a FreeBSD 5.4 server to join a NT4 domain as a member domain server using winbindd. I've compiled Samba with WinBIND support, ACL Support, Syslog support, UTMP support, SMB PAM module, and with installed POPT library. I've reviewed Chapter 20 of TOSHARG and implemented a good portion of it into our smb.conf file but am having trouble making the 'getent'

getent and wbinfo not returning expected results?
Hello, For some time now have been trying to connect a Samba-3.0.14a-0.4 server running on SuSE Ent 9 linux server to our Exchange 2003 (running on Server 2003 Std w/ SP1) server which is also the AD server for our domain. I can connect to the shares using the AD as the authentication source, so the basic functionality is there but some command output does not show in the way i expect

password sync "Failed to open/create TDB passwd" - some progress
I made a little progress. It is partly a file permissions error. If I change the permission of /usr/local/samba/private to 660. Since the unix Administrator (ie. Windows Domain Administrator) is in the sysadmin group, this gives it read-write permissions to this file. Under windows, as the Domain Administrator, I can now change account properties such as "password never expires."

Roaming profiles and USRMGR.EXE
I'm using Samba 3.0.22 on Ubuntu 6.06.1 as PDC for our Windows workstations. The passdb backend is tdbsam. I want to employ roaming profiles and due to the fact that we have a mixed Windows environment (Windows 2000 Pro and Windows XP Pro) I have the following entry in my smb.conf: logon path = \\%L\profiles\%U\%a Basically, this works fine. If a user is working on a W2k workstation, his

USRMGR group problems
I'm having some odd problems with USRMGR and Samba group accounts. USRMGR seems to work fine for user accounts, and it also correctly displays the list of group objects (these are all stored in LDAP btw). This can be seen in http://www.ehsco.com/misc/samba/umgr-main.gif Two of the groups can be managed while the other two cannot. For example, http://www.ehsco.com/misc/samba/umgr-admins.gif
