Strangely slow tranfers speeds with samba 3.0.10 and FC3...
Ok, I've found some references to this issue with samba on the net, but not related to the version of samba I'm running (which is 3.0.10, updated version that comes with Fedora Core 3). My problem is this, I've got a Compaq Proliant 2500 (dual Pentium Pro-200MHz with 256MB RAM and the standard Netintelligent 10/100 network controller that come with it)... I've narrowed down that

Does rsync use encription also for local tranfers?
Hy everybody, I'm using rsync to backup/synchronize folders to/from USB connected external hard drives. But I can't find an answer to a doubt. Does rsync use encription also for local tranfers? For "local transfer" I mean a transfer that doesn't go through a network like folders synchronization with external hard drives. I'm asking because the speed of local transfers

queues & tranfers
Hi, In features.conf I have defined "atxfer => 1" So, when a customer calls my support queue, and the agent from my support queue needs to transfer the customer to the billing queue, the agent dials 1, hears a "transfer" message and then dials the billing queue extensions. The agent enters a queue. At this point, he can hang up and leave the customer in the queue. But

[PATCH][VT] Multithread IDE device model ( was: RE: [PATCH]Make IDE dma tranfer run in another thread inqemu)
Keir: This is to to make the IDE device model multithreading so that the VMX domain IO access completion (triggering DMA operation) can be asynchronize with the completion of DMA operation. With this patch we get 8%--14% performance gain for kernel build. Thanks, eddie Yang, Xiaowei wrote: > Originally in qemu when a IDE dma transfer is started which is > triggered by access to 0xc000

Call tranfer drops 1st. digit
Hi list, I experiencing a strange behaviour when transferring a call. The use case is like this: - Incoming call from Zap/1-1 - Routed to SIP phone SIP/1001 - The called user (SIP/1001) wants to redirect the call and presses "#" - IVR (default setup) says "Transfer" and user gets dial tone - User dials 1002 - IVR says "No such extension - please try again" ??? Re: Horrendously slow transfer speeds in FC3 is drivi ng mecrazy!!! Please help... - SOLVED!
Does SMB need Push bits acknowledged? I had a similar problem with sloooow printing on OpenBSD, and had to set the AckOnPush parameter to enabled. That cured the printing issue for me. Horrendously slow transfer speeds in FC3 is drivingmecrazy!!! Please help... - SOLVED!
Thanks for the tip but recompiling the latest version was the second thing I did after trying and failing to tweak the smb.conf on my original hardware conf. I found that compiling it for my specific architecture (i686) increased my performance by 100% (from a punny 0.8 MB/s to a better but still punny 1.6 MB/s). -----Original Message----- From: Diego Julian Remolina

ATXFER discussion, what's your opinion ?
Hi, I'm experimenting attended calls tranfers and I'm a little bit confused. In usual pbx's normaly there is no difference between an attended call transfer and a blind one: you just hit "transfer" then dial the extension you want the call to be transfered. If you stay on the phone you can talk to the other party, then, when you hangup, he will get the call. If you hang

Tranferring R results to word prosessors
I have just started looking at R, and are getting more and more irritated at myself for not having done that before. However, one of the things I have not found in the documentation is some way of preparing output from R for convenient formatting into something like MS Word. An example: If you use summary(lm(....)) you get nice output. However, if you try to paste that output into the word

Hallo friend of Samba in addition to the problem of Doug Jolley I recognized, that samba is very, very, very slow if MS-Access tries to access another MS_Access Database on the Linux Box, powerd with Samba. Normally I have tranfers between 3.500 and 4.500 kbytes/sec (writing) and 2.500 to 3.500 kbytes/sec (reading)! THe Client is a Athlon K7/1000 with 256MB and a 3C905 NIC running Win2K. The

rreval 1.1 is now available on CRAN. This release fixes a Window specific bug. It is required for cloudRmpi 1.1 (which is also now available on CRAN). rreval is a means for using R on a remote system from within a local R session. Any R expression can be evaluated on the remote server. All non-graphical results are returned to the local R session: this includes the results of remote

SSH1 security with Kerb5
Hi, I am trying to decide if it is worth the time to test the Kerberos support in a port I am working on of Openssh 3.5p1. Does using Kerb5 with SSH1 solve the security problems inherent in protocol 1 and bring it up to par with the security level of SSH2 or are there other issues that Kerb5 authentication won't help for SSH1? Thanks, Greg Lambert --------------------------------- Do
