WINBIND idmap and tdbfiles while upgrading to 3.0.20a
Hello everybody, had anyone of you problems with winbind and tdbfiles, when upgrading from 3.0.14a to 3.0.20a? The Symptom was: After upgrading to 3.0.20a the idmapping was corrupt. Although 3.0.20a runs fine, none of the idmaping was resolved correctly. Downgrading to 3.0.14a "restored" the idmaps. tdbdump showed me the same idmappings, therefor i think winbind wasn't able

nmbd logging in 3.0.6 ?
Due to a config typo, I could not find any log.nmbd og log.smbd. When I realized my own error, I was able to establish the log.smbd when starting the daemon with the -l (or --logfile) parameter. This, however, works only for smbd - nmbd seems to ignore the mentioned parameter totally. Anyone else having a similar experience ? Cheers, Joern.

Two Locations, One Domain - LDAP Auth Failure
Hi Dirk, thanks for your reply! I definatly want to go down the BDC route so that I always log on to the nearest server. The link between the two isn't really an issue - both have a DSL connection to the internet. I started by modifying my smb.conf files so that each server is a local master for their subnet, but only the uni box is domain master. After fiddling with the 'remote

Photoshop "Disk Full" error, a linux filesystem NOT Samba issue
Hi all. Thought you would all be interested to know that i, like many others, am experiencing issues with Samba and Photoshop 7.0. The problem is specific to Photoshop 7.0 when saving files to a Samba share via a W2k/XP OS. Users experience a disk full error when saving from Photoshop but have no issues copying/moving etc files to/from the share outside of PS. Well, after some testing, the

Locked prf files within Roaming Profiles
Hello everybody, we have the following problem here: We've set up a complete samba domain (based on 3.0.20 now) which is running very fine including ldap backend. But we've still problems using roaming profiles (especially prf*tmp) files. We already tested the veto oplock directive with /prf*.tmp/ and even /*.tmp/ but these files remain always locked. Only "root" can delete
