wbinfo-t fails but other wbinfo items works
Hi, i've migrated a debian box into ads, most people can work as they should, some users eg which are not part of the domain can not authenticate themself, the log says NT_STATUS_INVALID_COMPUTER_NAME . Unable to join W2K Active Directory Domain

samba30b1 - net join responds failure - but machine account was created

wbinfo -t: NT_STATUS_INVALID_COMPUTER_NAME error
samba-3.0.21b on FreeBSD 6.0 and NT4.0 as a PDC. Having problems getting RH72 Samba to join a W2K Domain
I actually did it successfully on a test network (the Win2K is mixed-mode), but when I took the same Samba server and plugged it into the real network, I could't get "smbpasswd -j bottlerocket.com" to fly. Now realize when I did this in a test network, I set up a dummy Win2K DC for this same domain, same IP address, etc. So I think something has a conflicting, duplicate entry. I

Can't mount samba drive or join domain with W2K3 server

can join,but not log into domain

winbind: wbinfo -g sees "domain users", getent group does not
I have configured winbind on a Linux file server, connecting to a Samba PDC. When I run wbinfo -g, I can see the group "domain users". On the other hand, when I run getent group, I do not see this group. Apart from a few other groups, all groups are visibile in both wbinfo -g and getent group. When running for the first time wbinfo -u, getent passwd and wbinfo -g, I got the results

I can't join to domain
Hi Guys, I' testing samba file server now. And I install and config the samba. but I can't access the share folder on the server with win2000 client. I guess the server need to be a domain member server. right? wbinfo ok, but getent nothing
Hi there. Feel like I'm getting nowhere. Code: FreeBSD samba 3.6.6 ; connected to a Windows 2008 R2 AD wbinfo -u and wbinfo -g will properly show all the users and groups ; but for some reasons, I can get getent with winbind to show any users...
