Can't setup Windows Print Driver on Samba 3 Server
Hi, I'm trying to store a windows print driver on a samba 3 server (which is sharing a pseudo PDF printer) so that windows users in the domain can automatically have it installed (rather than having to choose a driver from their computer manually). I've tried the methods outlined in the samba howto but I can't get either of them to work. The one where you use a windows machine to

print command=... not longer working after update
Hi, after an update from 3.0.4 to 3.0.7 Samba does not longer honor the "print command" parameter. I use the parameter to implement a pdf-printer. Before the update, printing to the pdfprinter worked, after I see the following in the logs: --- [2004/09/20 23:00:15, 8] printing/nt_printing.c:unpack_devicemode(2368) with a private section of 708 bytes lpr: unable to print file:

Windows XP Machines (well mostly the XP ones) hanging
Hello Folks, I will personally send $50(AU) of Pizza to anyone that solves this one :) We have a network comprising approx 30 Windows workstations all logging in to a samba machine running as a PDC. The main exported file system is an NFS mounted file system, but this was happening back when this was an xfs file system as well. ACL's are enabled. We are running Samba Version 2.2.8a. The

Printing with CUPS and PDF
Trying to get one Samba server to serve several printers through CUPS and host a virtual PDF "printer" at the same time. I've gotten them working separately, but not together, and I think I know why. In the smb.conf man page under "print command": "With printing = cups, and if SAMBA is compiled against libcups, any manually set print command will be ignored."

Print to PDF file with CUPS
Hi all I've been beating my head against a wall today trying to get a PDF printer set up on our Samba box. It is set up to use CUPS for printing, and from the mountains of documentation/howtos that I've waded through, it appears that when Samba is setup to use CUPS, it ignores the "print command" parameter which most people seem to use for printing to PDF files. I'm

where, if at all, is my virtual printer output?
I recently installed the package that allows having virtual printers under CUPS. I used the localhost:631 GUI to add a virtual pdf printer. I do not remember what I did. Now there are two virtual printers, one named Cups-PDF and the one I named pdfprinter. I cannot find the output from either. I do not know how to ask them. >From firefox, print to file still works, but does not do what I
