Does smbmount support timeout equivalent to nfs "soft" mount ?
Dear all, I'm having a problem with smbmount and could you please kindly help ? I'm desperately searching a smbmount config equivalent to NFS "soft" mount option, but I cannot find any. I'll smbmount a Windows share as smbfs on a Linux box. I hope remote file access requests sent from smb client can timeout if CIFS server is down. i.e. I don't want the r/w file

Sure. However, I don't believe e-mail is an effective tool to make change, since much of the stuff that gets sent about things like this, either look like fanatics that won't take no for an answer, or people that demand their right to something which a company can't guarantee or has no obligation to provide. Most of the time, e-mail ends up sounding like a flame fest which isn't

"err:wgl:opengl_error No OpenGL support compiled in."
I uninstalled the Synaptic, 1.0 version of Wine yesterday and compiled the latest Git source. I had some problems (http://forum.winehq.org/viewtopic.php?t=3929), but I installed all the development packages that ./configure mentioned, including (I think) the necessary OpenGL library. I then compiled and installed without a hitch. However, Steam now starts up illegible and generally f*cked, and

Lots of IFs in /proc/net/dev
I have a domU configured with two virtual ethernet interfaces - one on a private bridge and one to the outside world. If I cat /proc/net/dev (or loop round the interfaces using SIOCGIFNAME) there are loads of them? Should they all be there ? I''m using the same kernel for dom0 & domU. How do I do core dumps and backtraces?
I've been testing out Red Orchestra on Wine, and when I run it, it tells me that wineserver crashed and to run ulimit -c unlimited and try again. So I did that, and tried, that time it didn't tell me wineserver crashed, but it did. I run wine again, and it says wineserver crashed last time, and to run this command: gdb /usr/bin/../lib32/../bin/wineserver

3Ware 9550SX-4LP Performance
I know there are a few 3Ware fans here and I was hoping to find some help. I just built a new server using a 3Ware 9550SX-4LP with four disks in raid 5. The array is fully initialized but I'm not getting the write performance I was hoping for -- only 40 to 45MB/Sec. 3Ware's site advertises 300MB/Sec writes using 8 disks on the PCI Express version of this card (the 9580 I think.)

create separate plots by factors
Hello, I am attempting to create several plots based on "site" (~300 total) and am having trouble with the code. I simply want to create a plot using the code, plot(year, peak), for the following dataset. I would like for each site to be plotted on a separate page and the plots saved in a directory. Would a "foreach" loop work? I tried a "by" statement, but

[LLVMdev] Proposal: floating point accuracy metadata (OpenCL related)
Hi, This is my proposal to add floating point accuracy support to LLVM. The intention is that the frontend may provide metadata to signal to the backend that it may select a less accurate (i.e. more efficient) instruction to perform a given operation. This is primarily a requirement of OpenCL, which specifies that certain floating point operations may be computed inaccurately. Comments
