similar to: MP3 encoding with Sound-Juicer

What program do you guys use for mp3 CD ripping? I have CentOS 5.0 x86. Sound Juicer seems is missing any mp3 plug in. Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know where you can find an RPM for this? I'm just trying to rip some MP3s on my upgraded box. The last of the things I can't do. Preston

I'm using CentOS 4.4. It looks like I can use Sound Juicer (I normally use GNOME) or KAudio Creator in KDE to do this. I've been looking for gstreamer-plugins-mp3 with the Lame MP3 codec, but the files I find quickly are for early versions of Fedora Core. If someone can give me a URL for a version that will work on CentOS 4.4, that will be greatly appreciated. Or, another Application that

I am looking via the console, and add software is hung. Saying: Updating Sound-Juicer Can't ping the box. I had selected a lot of packages to install (I did a minimal server install initially). Obviously I have to reboot. Question is how do I recover from this?

It appears that the liveCD (CentOS-5.2-i386-LoveCD.iso that I downloaded late last week) does not contain either netcat or tcpdump. Given the frequent use of a livecd for testing and debugging, those would seem to be key tools that should be available. Can anybody please suggest a suitable plugin to enable playing of mp3 files with either Totem or Rythmbox. Both of these come as part of the CentOS 5 package, but strangely neither has the necessary plugin for mp3, which surely is a common enough format in the music world? Thanks, Andy

Hi, I'm using Firestarter as my firewall. If I restart the network or my DSL line goes down, I have to manually restart Firestarter. I have sh /etc/firestarter/firestarter.sh stop and then sh /etc/firestarter/firestarter.sh start in my ip-up.local file.
