wins.dat contains 127.0.0.1 for local server
I couldn't really find anything about this in the archives, sorry if it's been beat to death. I've got a Debian Linux box running kernel 2.0.33. The machine has two ethernet cards and does NAT between a LAN and a cable modem link. For some reason, it's got 127.0.0.1 listed for its name: root@spruce:/var/samba>cat wins.dat "SPRUCE#20" 914324043 127.0.0.1 46R

Browsing problem with Samba 2.2.2 PDC
Hi, We have been using Samba 2.0.7 for a couple of years on Solaris 7. I am trying to move to a Samba 2.2.2 NT domain, with a Samba PDC offering WINS. I have downloaded the Solaris 7 package for 2.2.2 and installed it on a test machine as a domain master for domain "TEST" and "wins support = yes", but I am stumped almost immediately with a browsing problem. My new server

SMB gurus: please help - I am desperate.
I apologize up front for re-posting this, but I need to find a solution to this problem. I have been having hard time to believe that there isn't one person among the SMB gurus that doesn't know how a W2K client connects to an SMB server. So, if you happen to know even the slightest hint to this baffling problem, I would be forever grateful. OK. Here goes (original subject line was:

File descriptor leak in 1.0rc2[45]?
I upgraded (NetBSD 2.99 i386) from 1.0rc7 to 1.0rc24 and then tried rc25, and in both cases need to restart Dovecot every day or so (low volume server). It seems to run out of file descriptors. I have now raised the file descriptor limit to 1024, but that is not a long-term solution... ... Mar 5 11:41:38 arioch dovecot: pipe() failed: Too many open files Mar 5 11:42:38 arioch

Problem with Dovecot and AD LDAP auth
Hi. Seems it's a bug in dovecot auth. I have??FreeBSD 8.1-RELEASE-p1 and I tried 1.2.17 and 2.1.7 versions of Dovecot, and still no luck. The problem: when I set in dovecot-ldap.conf:?base = CN=Users,DC=domain,DC=local everything works fine. But if I set:?base = DC=domain,DC=local mail client can't authorize. /var/log/dovecot.log says: ===============================================?

Problems with undef subranges in identity copies
Hi, I'm stuck trying to fix a variety of problems that occur with undef subregisters when the register coalescer eliminates identity copies. The fundamental problem is complexity from the fact that undef values are a special case since they don't have an associated VNInfo/Segment unless the value is used across blocks. For example, in this case, %0 has 2 subregisters sub0 and sub1:

QQ International -- Almost works, but always says I'm "Away"
I got QQ International (version 1.0) to work via WINE under Mepis 8.5. Using winetricks, I installed all of the missing DLL's, and QQ now starts up and runs fine. ... except for the fact that it always shows me as being "Away". Even if I manually set my status to "Online", it changes me back to "Away" after a second or two. This only happens under WINE. I log in

correlation coefficient from qq plot
Hi, I am trying to figure out how to get the correlation coefficient for a QQ plot (residual plot). So to be more precise, I am creating the plot like this: qq.plot(rstudent(regrname), main = rformula, col=1) But want to also access (or compute) the correlation coefficient for that plot. Thanks, Tom [[alternative HTML version deleted]]

Problem with memory footprint of qq plot generated with lattice
Dear R helpers, I generate a qq plot using the following function call. qqmath(~val|ind,data=xx ,distribution=function(p) qt(p,df=19) ,ylab="Sample Quatinles" ,xlab="Theoretical Quantiles" ,aspect=1 ,prepanel = prepanel.qqmathline ,panel=function(x,y) { panel.qqmathline(y, distribution=function(p) qt(p,df=19),col=2)

I tried in following manner : >qq(original~predicted) and error was : Error in qq.formula(o ~ p) : y must have exactly 2 levels There is an option "qtype" which dosent make any difference. What is the correct way for plotting QQ-plot or am I missing something. -- Amar Kumar Nandan

QQ-plot – Axes
I would like to change the position of the major tick marks in my qq-plot? Right now the ticks are set at 5.5, 6.0, 6.5 and 7.0. I would like them to be at 5.4, 5.6, 5.8, 6.0, 6.2, 6.4, 6.8 and 7.0. So I would have to remove some of the present ticks. So far I can only add ticks to the plot with: axis(1,at=c(5.4, 5.6, 5.8, 6.0, 6.2, 6.4, 6.8, 7.0)) Is there a solution to my

Deriving Samples from specific, not implemented PDF for a QQ-Plot
Dear All, this is my first post to the R-help, so please don't be too strict. My problem concerns a QQ-Plot: I want to show how well empirical samples match with a theoretical distribution. The theoretical distribution has got several parameters, but I made it to fit via ML. Anyway, the theoretical function gives me the density for a given data point x. As far as I'm
