Connection reset by peer / The network is busy
I have seen posts concerning this in the archives, but with no real
solution. I've seen it first-hand twice now.
I am running Debian Woody, with us3.samba.org's Samba 3 sources added to my
apt-sources. 3.0.2a was the first version of Samba installed. The
SMB.conf is used off of a previous "Test" system, then updated to reflect
changes in the network as it stands now.

Soyo G668 + Asterisk
Hello
Has anyone been able to get the Soyo G668 phone to work with Asterisk? I've been playing with it for two days and I haven't had any luck. I've got a soft IP phone(xten) to work fine. If anyone has a sample config page that would be great. Thanks

Soyo G688
Has anyone had any experience with the Soyo G688 phone? I'd like to
use it as a agent's phone. Is it reliable? How well does it work with

Thanks,

S101I (IAX) limitation
That little Digium adapter S101I is a nice and compact (good for travel)
but has a serious limitation, it doesn't support bridging.
If I have four/five of these units registered to my asterisk server
(over the Internet) and with standard DSL or Cable connection all for of
them connected and in use (utilizing G711); my upload bandwidth will get
saturated as all of them have to go via my

ext3 and highpoint RAID.
oops.
I successfully installed RedHat 8.0 onto two ATA133 80gig drives running a mirrored RAID with the hpt37x (highpoint 372 onboard RaidController on the SOYO DRAGON motherboard.)
I used ext3 as my filesystem type of choice but unfortunately the system shut down uncleanly and it now is coming up with the "press Y to force file system integrity check" at boot.... which it runs by

chan_unical-MFC/R2 CPU usage problem
Hi All,
I have installed chan_unicall and MFC/R2 successfully, and is runnign fine.
But I noticed that once unicall is installed, asterisk CPU usage as reported by 'top', jumps to 99% every few seconds.
I have no incoming calls, and I have even removed the E1 lines from card and I tried almost everything possible but I was not successful in determining the cause of this high cpu

Screaming Interrupt error and hang.
One system I have is configured thusly:
AMD Duron 1200 (I have frequency restrictions in this application, and must
stay below 1.3GHz or must be above 2.0GHz, and the 1200 fits nicely in our
interference plan; besides, I was given the chip, and it's fast enough for
the application).

Weird problem with OpenGl based games (Quake 3 engine)
I will try to explain the best I can - but honestly... it may be hard to
understand what I am talking about anyway...
Problem is like this - whatever I try to play OpenGL based game that uses
Quake 3 engine I got weird mouse "jumps". Let's take Soldier of Fortune 2
Demo as it can be downloaded for free. When in jungle I try to look left or
right - mouse jumps slightly (the

Cisco FXS Issue...
Im sure this has been thrown around this list 1,000 times, and Im sure its been around the net too.. But I have done everything, and cannot seem to get inward calls to be processed on my asterisk box..
First, Let me tell you what works:
1) Softphones (ZoIPer using IAX2 Protocol) Can make calls behind a Natted Firewall to the FXS Port, and it rings, and calls work full duplex.
2) Soyo IP Phone

WINS not updating after swapping network connections
Our domain controller is running Samba 2.2.8a on Solaris 8.
We have XP laptops. We swap between a builtin network card, docking port and
wireless card. All of these have separate IP addresses.
If I say, boot up with the wireless card, then remove it and use the builtin
network card, the IP address in wins.dat on the server doesn't change. It
still has the IP address of the wireless card.

IAX Transfers
I'm having a strange problem with transfers on IAX phones. I have two
IAX phones behind my firewall that are extensions from my office phone
system. Both phones can receive calls, but only one of the extensions
can do blind transfers by pressing the # key. I have a similar problem
at the office. Some of the phones can transfer calls, some of them
can't. And my Zap lines can always

LAN team says I have 2 IP's w/1 MAC address, but I have 2 cables with 2 separate IP's. What gives?
I'm really, REALLY hoping someone can shed some light on this. I posted
something similar about this but I got more confusing info from my LAN
people.
The hardware is a Soyo K-333 Dragon MB running SuSE 8.0 w/Apache2 & Samba. I
have 2 NIC's, the onboard NIC and a D-Link 530TX+ card. I have two IP
addresses, 155.16.78.54 & .55 on eth0 I get lots of collisions, errors,
etc., and

I was using a Gigabyte motherboard, and the board seems like a bad choice.

UTStarcom F1000 WiFi IP Phone Review
I bought a UTStarcom F1000 WiFi IP Phone from
http://www.luxoncomm.com and tested it with Asterisk.
This is a my first impression of the device.
The F1000 supports SIP. It looks and operates like
a cell phone, and connects to the Internet through
WiFi, so you can use it at any WiFi hotspot. I set up
a 802.11b wi-fi network with a Linksys BEFW11S4
Wireless-B broadband router with no security

Samba ver 2.2.2 - socket read - WinXP
Jan. 21, 2004
Dear All,
I have enjoyed some success with Samba version 2.2.2. I am using
it to serve Micro$ Access to end users. It works very well on a prior
version of Unix, with older Win2k clients. Now, with my current version,
and Win XP Pro, I have problems. Periodically, they get abruptly kicked out.
I get syslog errors which look like:
