Q about net groupmap examples on samba.org
Considering the following page... http://us3.samba.org/samba/docs/man/guide/small.html First of, my compliments to John for some great examples to study. In my mind I see three levels of security: 1) Linux - such as SSH'ing into the Linux server, Linux accounts and groups come into play here 2) Samba PDC - "Domain Admins" "Domain Users" come into play here. Domain logon through VPN with WINS
Hi! I'm experiencing some serious problems setting up Samba as PDC. File sharing works fine and I can even add my computer to the domain, but when I reboot I can't log in with my samba username and password. I've previously set up similiar server, though it wasn't trough VPN. I'm running latest Debian Etch with every package upgraded. I've also tried some older samba

Samba and LDAP, problem with variables %u and %g
Hi samba list, I'm using samba 3(.0.13) with OpenLDAP and I have a strange problem: the variables %U and %G don't seem to be replaced by their values. I get nothing in my logs, so I don't know where is the problem... In fact, in my smb.conf, I have something like: logon home = logon path = \\server\profiles\prof.%G logon drive = h: The profiles are loaded if I use logon

Samba 2.2.7 as PDC causing BSOD on 2K domain logon
Hello, Have wrestled this one for about a week, now, getting frustrated ;-) Running samba as PDC for my domain (cf. smb.conf further down) When logging in on my 2K Pro machine, I first get a "can't find roaming profile, attempting local profile"-error, but logon using my user's smb account accepts only the correct password and so the identification part works well. How to make "Add permission" for folder in system withntacl support?
Hi! Let's go back to this topic please! I have to replace the Windows NT 4.0 server with Samba but I still don't know how to do this. I need to allow to someone (some user group) the right to add files into the folder. They use this "feature" on current NT server ver often and to this in the following ways: 1. Rightclick on file you want to add, Copy, then go to server, for

mapping well known groups problem (net groupmap)
Hi I have samba 3.0.14a (debian/stable) and wonder where the problem is that running this command: # net groupmap add ntgroup="Domain Admins" unixgroup=ntadmins rid=512 type=d gives: adding entry for group Domain Admins failed! but (note changed rid) # net groupmap add ntgroup="Domain Admins" unixgroup=ntadmins rid=1000 type=d works fine. Hm, winbind is not working, but I

Problems in running affylmGUI
Hi, I am trying to run affylmGUI on my mac computer. I have already installed the Tlc package as well as Bwidgets through ActiveTcl conversion installing files. However, when running affylmGUI() on R, I keep getting the message in the attached file. I have copied the tcl folders from the root library to the user library, and have obtained the same issue. I would really appreciate if

Domain Admin with tdbsam on 3.0.2a
Firstly I apologise for the length of this query but I am hoping that if I document everything I did someone might respond / be able to help. My Configuration is Samba 3.0.2a as a PDC on Redhat 8. I cannot for the life of me get the "Domain Admins" functionality to work I am hoping that another set of eyes can shed some light on this problem as I have now spent 41 hrs googling /

rake db_schema_import on vanilla schema.rb
Hi all, I dumped my schema from SQLServer 2000 without any problems. I then tried to "rake db_schema_import" on MySQL 4. To do this i changed my database.yml settings to use the mysql adapter (as it was set to use sqlsever before) and attempted the import. I haven''t changed a thing in the schema.rb script and, even though I do have generated a migration, I think I

applying quantile to a list using values of another object as probs
Hi r-users, I have a matrix B and a list of 3x3 matrices (mylist). I want to calculate the quantiles in the list using each of the value of B as probabilities. The codes I wrote are: B <- matrix (runif(12, 0, 1), 3, 4) mylist <- lapply(mylist, function(x) {matrix (rnorm(9), 3, 3)}) for (i in 1:length(B)) { quant <- lapply (mylist, quantile, probs=B[i]) } But quant

Addressing Columns in a Data Frame
Dear All, Probably a one liner, but I am banging my head against the floor. Consider the following DF <- data.frame( x=1:10, y=10:1, z=rep(5,10), a=11:20 ) mn<-names(DF) but then I cannot retrieve a column by doing e.g, DF$mn[2] I tried to play with the quotes and so on, but so far with no avail. Any suggestion is welcome. Cheers Lorenzo
