Hi! How do you guys solve windows security updates? Is there a way to force windows computers to be updated. Even more flexible is if one can update windows through login script. Samba + ldap pdc and SUS
Hi all, I'm here again ith a non-strictly samba related problem, but I hope someone in the list has already faced and perhaps solved it... I've got a 60 clients network (most Windows 200 and XP) organized in a domain. The pdc and bdc run on Fedora 2 + samba 3.0.7-2.FC2 + openldap-2.1.29-1, and everything works fine. To limit the use of internet bandwidth I installed a Windows 2003

Automating Windows Update
Hi guys I was just wondering if there's already a way to automate the process of updating Windows to be specific XP. My idea is to mimic how a Windows server domain controller can rollout critical update on the entire domain. Can Samba do this? Thanks for any info Jan Ardosa --------------------------------- Yahoo! how to fetch a call?
Hi, there is a feature, which I would like to use with asterisk, and I assume it exists. Unfortunately I don't know how to say it in english. In german it's "einen Ruf heranholen". It means: The phone set of my collegue is ringing, and I'm hearing the ringing. I know, that my collegue is not at his desk, and now I want to answer the call at my phone (instead of running to

what to do ??
Howdy All, I am the adminstrator in a school which has netware 4.11 ( five servers in the nds tree )as its main student platform. This has been working very well over the past 6 years or so. The school has the ability to obtain a microsoft solution at no cost ( except for the new hardware required, which is the reason for this email in the first place ). Advice and opinions are sought on the

using a "third party" DLL in my package
Hello all, it seems my efforts in reading the manuals and help files aren't enough so here I am. The question is, how would I go about linking a pre-compiled DLL in to my package? I have previously successfully built packages with Fortran and C source code, but now I'd like to take this ready made DLL and call its routines from R. My collegue was brave enough to simply try and put

surprising difference in log()
Hello everybody My collegue and I noticed a strange behaviour of R on different platforms. It's a simple computation, but results are rather different. On Windows XP: > floor(log(8,2)) [1] 3 which is what one should expect. Here's instead the result with Mac OS X (same version, 2.5.0 (2007-04-23)) > floor(log(8,2)) [1] 2 Is it a "bug" in R or in the operating

Grandstream hold one way audio -URGENT
Hi all, At our customer site i've installed one asterisk server with 20 Grandstream GXP2000's. Firmware 1.0.1.9. When someone dials the customer, the receptionist picks up, and does an attended transfer (the 'grandstream way') to a collegue. Most of the times this goes ok, but sometimes, when the receptionist puts the call on hold, and tries te reconnect to the caller there's

how to do something like " subset(mat, ("col1">4 & "col2">4)) "
Dear all, I have a problem with the "subset()" function. I spent all day yesterday with a collegue to solve it and we did not find a satisfying solution (even in the archived mails), so I ask for your help. Let's say (for a simple example) a matrix mat: R> mat cola colb colc [1,] 1 4 7 [2,] 2 5 8 [3,] 3 6 9 My goal is to select the lines of the matrix on the basis of the

R versus SAS: lm performance
Hello, A collegue of mine has compared the runtime of a linear model + anova in SAS and S+. He got the same results, but SAS took a bit more than a minute whereas S+ took 17 minutes. I've tried it in R (1.9.0) and it took 15 min. Neither machine run out of memory, and I assume that all machines have similar hardware, but the S+ and SAS machines are on windows whereas the R machine is Redhat

I am looking for a simple way to forward calls unconditionally with Asterisk. We are running an Asterisk system with 10 extensions using SIP. One of our users leaves the office regulary, when she is out, she needs to be able to forward unconditionally to her mobile or collegue. How can one use R-code and R-functions within C-Code?
Dear everyone, the following problem: Our group has written a lengthy program in c++, to which we would like to add some additional features. Because we are not sure if those features are actually useful, we would prefer to take a "quick and dirty" approach just to try them out. The additional feature is that in every iteration of the algorithm membership-probabilities should by

RGL plot : cex and zlim arguments do not work
Dear all, I have a quiet simple problem (shared by a collegue) but no solution at yet. The arguments I use in bbox3d or text3d do not have any effect on the graph. I need to use 'cex' and 'zlim' but It does not work. Maybe my problem could appear trivial but I have spent a lot of time on that. If you have a solution, please let me know! stephane [[alternative HTML version

Position of boot.cat
I've found with one of my collegue a strange "bug" when I'm using isolinux. I know that we are using a modified isolinux 1.76 but I'd like to know if some of you knows the reason of this. We've found that if boot.cat is located at position 740 or 569 (isoinfo -i) the cdrom is not detected are bootable on some drives whereas it works on some others. We've checked
