bug in shorewall shorewall-2.1.7-1 rpm??
Hi!
I installed shorewall shorewall-2.1.7-1 on a newly installed box.
When using 1.4 versions I could enable shorewall in ntsysv, now shorewall
doesn''t show up in ntsysv?
I am running shorewall on a RedHat Enterprise Linux rebuild
(www.taolinux.org).
Is this a bug or a feature?

Novell Evolution Connector
I just built a version of the Novell Evolution Connector (to use
Evolution with a MS exchange server) that works with
RHEL/WBEL/CentOS/TaoLinux.
You can get it from here if you are interested...

http://taolinux.org/?q=node/view/2
http://whiteboxlinux.org/
brigth, blinking... in the very first page...lets try do to as all others are doing... its a pratical approach... not what we think about Red Hat trademark guidelines.

Finished print jobs, Samba 3.0.9
Has there been any further progress on the finished print jobs piling up
issue? In the last few emails there was mention of a fix by Monday.
Any updates would be greatly appreciated.
If this is the wrong forum to ask about this please let me know and I
will post to the correct forum.

Kernel packages and 3rd party kernel modules
Hi,
I'd like to come back to this topic. We've discussed this before on IRC
but there's still no acceptable solution implemented.
3rd party kernel-modules are build against the official Red Hat kernels,
to make them work with the TaoLinux/CentOS kernels there are specific
requirements:
+ kernel RPM package should provide the same version/release
+ kernel version/release should

Problem with mixed-case usernames and group mapping
Hello,
I've got a problem with user<->group mapping. Our windows PDC has
mixed-case usernames. 'getent passwd' is ok, as it simply ignores case
and shows all users in lowercase, but 'getent group' will give me
'group: User,User2', so when I 'id user' it will not be shown as member
of 'group'.
A simple example:
# getent passwd

Printing to /dev/null ?
Hi list!
I need a Samba printer that will route all printjobs to /dev/null
(We have accounting software that requires every invoice to be printed
before it can be booked and the invoice data is imported from other
software so it's just wasting paper).
I tried creating a printer in cups with a printer URI of /dev/null but
that doesn't work, the print jobs are just piling up and never

Re: [cups.general] Re: Windows Clients keep finished jobs in Queue
I'm also seeing this problem. We're running samba 3.0.7 with CUPS
1.1.20. The clients printing are WinXP Professional SP1.
The jobs printed are still displayed in the Windows printer status
window, even though it's been printed already and disappears from the
CUPS printer queue list.

bind and 3.4
Hello,
I encountered a problem when upgrading from 3.3 to 3.4 on i386.
The machine is a production name server running bind. Looks like the
new rpm moved my named.conf to .rpmsave and chkconfig'ed bind to off.
That's really bad. A more gentle behavior would have been to save the
new named.conf to .rpmnew and not mess with initscripts.
Anyone else notice that?

How quickly are RHEL errata released as CentOS errata ?
Hi,
I am deciding on what 'RHEL clone' to use and prefer to use one that has a
quick release after RedHat releases an update.
I checked the repositories, but have not encountered any of the latest
errata. Am I looking at the wrong place ?
Thanks,

Possible new CentOS user (currently WBEL)
Hi,
For a few months i've been using WhiteBox Enterprise Linux.
In fact, i've migrated all my companie's servers (about 20) to this RHEL
distro like.
Well, it's not that i'm not satisfied, but WBEL is a one man show and
that causes me some preocupation. And besides, it seems to me that it
can't stand up to the rythm RHEL evolves.
That's why i'm writing to you,

Faxing..not 100%
Here is the setup:
POTS -> PRI -> Asterisk -> ATA (Fax)
The ATA is set to only 711. Asterisk's sip.conf sets this device to only
711. Yet, faxing works less than 50% of the time.
I cannot possibly be the only person with this problem. I can't even get
app_rxfax to work. It answers but rxfax drops the call 5 seconds into it.
If anyone out there has near 100% success with
