build_sam_account: smbpasswd database is corrupt
Hi, I wanted to migrate my sambapasswd file to a ldap test system and noticed, that I do get errors: build_sam_account: smbpasswd database is corrupt ... username with uid ... is not in unix passwd database! Importing/changing LDAP accounts fail after the last useraccount entry in my sambapasswd file. Is there a way to remove all accounts which are in the sambapasswdfile but not in my

RE: Solaris/Winbind Problems
Yes, it kind of sucks that it does not work correctly. I did the following kluge for now: I did the following: In /usr/sbin, I created a script called passwd: #!/bin/ksh trap "" 2 3 sudo mv /etc/nsswitch.conf /etc/nsswitch.conf.winbind sudo mv /etc/nsswitch.conf.nowinbind /etc/nsswitch.conf /usr/bin/passwd $1 sudo mv /etc/nsswitch.conf /etc/nsswitch.conf.nowinbind sudo mv

RE: Solaris/Winbind Problems
Hi, if winbind or/and NIS is/are running and you want to change the password of the local account, you can do this with: /usr/bin/passwd -r files <Username> So you don?t have to move the configuration files. Have you tried this? Bernd Schmeling > -----Original Message----- > From: David Shapiro [mailto:david.shapiro@btitele.com] > Sent: Wednesday, July 31, 2002 7:53 PM >

RE: Solaris/Winbind Problems
No, I have not tried that. The problem is teaching all the users this. I suppose the script I sent you for /usr/sbin/passwd could do this for them instead of the moving stuff. It would make it safer--in that, it would help avoid the problem where if a user cancels in mid-passwd-change the correct file may not be put back in place (there are ways around this too, of course). Thanks for the

Member server with LDAP backend?
On my new samba file server I want to use security=domain, authenticating against an NT4 PDC. The file server will also server nfs requests to my UNIX clients. Current UNIX accounts exist in LDAP (objectClass=posixAccount). Current NT accounts live in NT domain. All UNIX users have an associated account in the NT domain (same username). Few NT users have UNIX accounts. I have setup nfs on the

Failed to delete entry for share
Hi All, I'm having some minor trouble with an obscure samba feature. I'm using the remote administration "Server Manager" features of smb.conf. Specifically the "add share command" "change share command" and "delete share command". I've written a small C program to do the text-processing portion of smb.conf file needed for each operation. The C

[PATCH 000/102] Convert drivers to explicit reset API
The reset control API has two modes: exclusive access, where the driver expects to have full and immediate control over the state of the reset line, and shared (clock-like) access, where drivers only request reset deassertion while active, but don't care about the state of the reset line while inactive. excel files and R
Greetings everyone, I am new at R. My questions is rather basic. Looking R manuals looks like there should be a way to read MS excel files into R. Could somebody tell me which library should I use for that? Thanks in advance Victor H.
