now available: RwebWin
I ported Jeff Banfield's Rweb (http://www.math.montana.edu/Rweb/) to Windows. In the process, I dropped some things (non-JavaScript version, Rweb modules and data sets), but also simplified the installation process by removing the dependency on NetPBM. A Ghostscript dependency remains, however. See http://www.liquidmarkets.com/m.php?m=News&file=article&sid=6 for up-to-date

FC3, TDM11B (DEVPCI) and asterisk
Hey folks; I am a old Dialogic telephony hack and have tried asterisk a while back on a laptop with the OSS module and I liked what I saw. I recently came across some info regarding asterisk 1.0 and thought I should give it a go. I used a AMD K7 MB, compiled the binaries without a real problem and realized that I might have a sound card issue because I couldn't hear the messages but the demo

Asterisk box with unreliable ping/latency
Hello! Over the last couple of days I?ve been trouble shooting a strange problem with Asterisk. First of all, I should say that I?ve been running Asterisk on a Fedora Core 3 box since last May, but decided to do a reinstallation of everything due to some problems we?ve had with echos during conversations (100% SIP based, so no ZAP echos). We are talking about a low-volume installation

Sipura SPA-2000
Hello, I am very new to asterisk and voip in general and so far have managed to get the FXO card and a few sip phones working fine. My question is where does the Sipura SPA 2000 come in the picture? Can it be used as an extension (i.e FXS) ? Or is it to be used as a line (i.e FXO)? Or it can be used as both? My understanding is that its just like another ATA186. Is that true? I guess what I

FW: * and Cisco routers
I understand that softphone are the answer in fact I deploy a ton of the Ip comm version every week. I am under contract with the phones so I can't sell them and there no easy way out of the contract. As for 79XX's I have several office that have them working over a VPN backed in to our main office where the CCM's and GW's are with managable problem and for the most part they

Lower cost router suitable for VOIP ?
Hi, we're testing Asterisk 1 RC 2 behind ordinary router and NAT. Since we're sharing network with web server it seems like voip packets are not coming through fast enough (Digium demo dies after few seconds...). It's the same if I make direct calls (passing Asterisk) so we conclude it's network problem - it also work normally outside our router... I wonder what solutions can we

Wireless and kernelproblem on IBM Z61m
Just got almost everything set up on my IBM/Lenovo Z61m and now wondering if there is a graphical tool to set up wireless networking. Also for some reason the kernel 2.6.9-42.0.3 and 2.6.9-42.0.8 hang if rc.sysinit includes the sound initialization. I've tried the plus kernel also and the same thing happens there. The only one working is 2.6.9-22 but on that one networking doesn't. If

VuXML is a markup language designed for the documentation of security issues within a single package collection. Since about February of this year, we have been diligently documenting vulnerabilities in FreeBSD and the FreeBSD Ports Collection using VuXML. The

Getting "poll: protocol failure in circuit setup" from rsh
Hi all, I inherited a cpu-stats script from the previous *nixadmin at our department. This script relies on a rsh-command to get the vmstats from the remote machines and then using a perl script to push it to a web server. Now I''ve just added a new machine running CentOS 5.2 x64 to the script and I get the error message in the subject line; "poll: protocol failure in circuit

Shared printing between Linux (client) and Windows (server): NT_STATUS_ACCESS_DENIED
Thank you for answer. Logged in as Guest, then went to Security tab. I see `Everyone', it is given all permissions. Then I went to `Current permissions' tab (I have localized OS at the moment, so probably it is not correct name) and typed in `Everyone' and `Guest' as well: all five permission types are checked. $ smbclient -L 192.168.0.100 -m SMB2     Sharename
