Directory with ! in filename
I've been getting the error below and the only thing I can see odd about the directory is the ! in the directory name. That and there is a space at the end of the text which doesn't seem like it should be there either. There are no permissions issues with accessing the directory and the directory does exist. Does anyone know if the ! will cause a problem or will rsync escape the special

odfWeave UTF-8 error and latin characters
Hello R masters, I have sent this same message to other lists and none so far could give some light. I was trying to use odfWeave to generate a report from R and Im getting an error that I think is related to latin characters. I looked around and did find some stuff related to this problem about Sweave http://labmoluscos.wordpress.com/2010/02/18/sweave-latex-character-encoding/ but did not find a

Asterisk seding 2 INVITEs all of a sudden
Hello Everyone, Today we observed asterisk sending two invites for the initial call before the call was established (ie, not re-invites). There were no changes made to the configuration for a very long time, and was kind of confused when seeing this action. Can someone please suggest where to look to remove this behaviour? Search with specified charset
I've seen a problem with searching in the Prayer webmail client that turns out to be caused by Prayer insisting on a charset called "ISO-8859-1" and Dovecot, using Solaris iconv, not recognising it (all the Solaris 8 iconv modules appear to be "ISO8859-1" etc. or just "8859-1"). This isn't a problem in Linux: % iconv --list | grep 8859.1/ 8859_1//

Samba 3.0 pre 17, character set
Hi! I have searched the net, but I finally didn't find an answer. I have a Samba TNG installation here, with some problems, and I would really like to replace it with 3.0 now (2.2 is missing some important functionality I need, so I would like to try the "unstable" 3.0). I compiled and installed, it works fine as pdc, but I don't get some national special characters (German

RFD: Internationalizing the menu system
I know quite a few people have interest in internationalizing the menu system. This is a tricky problem, since have a full-blown rendering engine for the more complex languages (Indic, Semitic and East Asian languages being the main ones that have substantial complexities.) Given that, I was thinking that the most sensible thing might be to pre-render strings (basically menu items and

vorbiscomment and UTF-8
Hi! I think it is supposed to save all the comments in UTF-8 encoding. But I think all files I write to my files with 'vorbiscomment -w file.ogg -c tag' are saved in standard ISO-8859-1(5). How can I change this? Thanks for help. Stefan --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ Ogg project homepage: http://www.xiph.org/ogg/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a

Samba -> XP. Slow log in/out
I have a server running slackware 9.1 and samba samba-2.2.8a and have WinXP Home (SP1) on a client machine. I have all of my users "My documents" pointing at a subdirectory of their home directories (ie. /home/USER/.documents). All of the users are able to use this with no problems EXCEPT me. When I log in to my user profile in Windows, the system tray takes about 5 minutes to load

4GB limit with netstat
Hi, Was wondering if there are any plans to update either the kernel structures and/or netstat to show more than 4GB of traffic stats. For example, on a 4.8-STABLE machine: $ netstat -bI sis0 Name Mtu Network Address Ipkts Ierrs Ibytes ... sis0 1500 <Link#2> <mac-addr-hidden> 8789598 0 4103727771 ... <non-relevant parts removed> This shows that

Struggling to get DC Setup/Validated with BIND_DLZ
So I have a lot of experience with BIND, and some with Samba, but I know nothing about AD. Anyhow, I am trying to get a simple lab DC setup using BIND9_DLZ and I am having trouble when I try and test the DNS update capabilities. I followed the guide here to setup BIND as a backend: https://wiki.samba.org/index.php/DNS_Backend_BIND And the guide here to setup the Samba DC:

Hello, I am attempting to get by broadcom wifi card up and running, am sick of trying to get ndis working, and am attempting to use the bwi driver (originating in dragonflyBSD). Sip to Sip Calls via Asterisk
Hi All, I have a weird problem. I have asterisk setup using the G729 Codec to receive Incoming calls both from a SIP Gateway (SER and Quintum) and via ISDN using i4l and have rules setup in extensions.conf for sending calls out either back via the SIP Gateway or ISDN. What I want to do is have PSTN calls come in via the SIP Gateway, be answered by the auto-attendant and then sent back out to
