Error copying folder with desktop.ini
Hi,
I have some issues to copy a folder which includes hidden desktop.ini to a samba share using Windows 8 Pro RTM.
Every time I copy a folder which contains a desktop ini with the LocalizedResourceName attribute, then Windows copies
the file and immediately tries to copy the file again and therefore asking whether the file shall be replaced or not.
My desktop.ini is copied from a Windows 8

Time to give back, Samba LDAP with FreeRadius
If this is off topic I apologize in advance. Using Samba 3.0.13 with an
LDAP back-end and FreeRadius I was trying to add the Radius schema and
kept getting object class violations. It's my limited understanding of
LDAP that you can not have more than one structural objectclass. I'm no
ldap expert so no email telling me how wrong I am. So I came up with a
another solution. Using the

Samba printing
Using samba 3.05 and the point and print features how does one setup tcp/ip
ports for printing. After having loaded the print drivers using the APW all
the printer ports show a local port on the samba server and all of my
printers use a 192.168.10.X address. Is there anyway this can automatically
happen without user intervention.
I wasn't able to locate this info in the how to's.

enabled roaming profiles but I am not sure how to correct it. I also

Beating a dead horse
Sorry to do this .... AGAIN
Every year or two I get stuck on this same problem involving
excluding.
Seems I learn how its done then 2yrs later I've totally forgotten and
when I look up my notes ... this new need is just different enough
that they don't apply.
Here's the problem. (Simplified... and I've skipped some of the
repetitive output)

Er, no it isn''t. You young punks wouldn''t know old-school if it bit

Seriously though, REAL old-school quoting is interleaved point by

Beating the authentication horse (dead yet?)
Guys,
I''m frankly overwhelmed by the number of Rails authentication options(?)
out there...from ActiveRBAC to acts_as_authenticated to LoginEngine and
so on...so many options, yet on resource I''ve found really distinguishes
between each.
This is sad, as authentication and user management is really an area
where some Rails simplicity pixie dust could be a real boon to

Logon script execution intermittent
Using Suse Enterprise 9.1 and Samba 3.013 and Win XP SP1 and SP2
workstations. Users logon scripts are not being run during logon in a
reliable fashion. The could run without issue for 10 logons and on the
11th no mapped drives doesn't seem to be a specific workstation or XP
version. Currently running with cranked up logging levels looking for a
needle in a haystack. Anyone run into this?

R interpretation
Hi,
I am new to R (and not really a stats expert) and am having trouble
interpreting its output. I am running a human learning experiment, with
6 scores per subject in both the pretest and the posttest. I believe I
have fitted the correct model for my data- a mixed-effects design, with
subject as a random factor and session (pre vs post) nested within group
(trained vs control).

pcse package error message concerning nrows of using data
Dear R Community,
I am currently facing this seemingly obscure Problem with Panel
Corrected Standard Errors (PCSE) following Beck & Katz (1995). As the
authors suggest, I regressed a linear model (tmodel) with lm() with
option "na.action=na.exclude" (I have also tried other options here). My
dataframe is organized in pooled times series fashion, but with various

pcse package - clarifying question about arguments groupN and groupT
Just two clarifying questions about the package "pcse".
Argument "groupN": It should be a factor that tells us to what
subgroup each record belongs, right?
Argument "groupT" should be a vector that contains the time
identifier. Can it be just a factor (e.g., 1, 2, 3, etc.) - or does it
have to be in the date format?
Thank you very much!

Cisco 7960 Beating a Dead Horse
Hi all,
So I have been reading through the docs available online and the
different threads on this list, but I cannot seem to get this phone to work.
I have configured the OS79XX.TXT and SIP/SEP*.cnf files (see attached),
when I configure the phone to point to my tftp server and reboot it I
get this message:
Connection received from 10.6.0.224 on port 50608 [09/02 12:16:11.750]

User Manager
Using Suse ES9 SP2 with OpenLDAP backend with Samba 3.0.21pre I'm getting
the following error. "The stub received bad data Would you like to
administer another domain?" then User Manager closes when I select no. User
Manager seems to work in limited fashion if Low speed connection is
selected. This has worked fine until a few days ago and I have not made any
changes.
Thanks

ShellClassInfo

anyone know what this is and how I stop it from popping up?
TIA
