Samba v3.0.11 assigning privileges with custom pdb plugin
Greetings, We have home grown user management backend system, and I have ported our v2.2.x passdb over to v3 type plugin. I am able to access files and print using our backend. I am running into trouble joining PCs to the domain. I am assuming the primary problem is that our backend system doesn't have a 'root' user. I was hoping that assigning SeMachineAccountPrivilege to our tech

Buig in bin/R script (PR#9375)
Full_Name: Gordon Lack Version: 2.4.0 OS: OSF1 v5.1 Submission from: (NULL) (198.28.92.5) Changes to the bin/R front-end interlude script at 2.4.0 (cf: 2.2.0) have broken R on (Dec/Compaq/HP) OSF1. There are 3 occurrences of "${@}", but this is the incorrect syntax for adding $@, as on older Bourne shells this will add an empty (but present) parameter. The result is that the build

problems with _LARGE_FILES on AIX 5.1 with 32-bit kernel
Dear rsync-developers, on AIX5.1 with 32-bit kernel one can have large-file support. rsync in principle supports it correctly since the flag _LARGE_FILES is treated correctly in the /usr/include/*.h But there is one point missing, the mkstemp is not opening a large file. So syncing large files crash after 2GB. To avoid this one could either put a #ifdef _LARGE_FILES #undef HAVE_SECURE_MKSTEMP

WinXP Pro passwords
Set-up Mandrake 8.2 Samba 2.2.3 Problem description When changing the password of an existing user or adding a new user they can not logon from a WinXP Pro machine. Existing users can logon OK from WinXP Pro and Win98. New users, and those with password changed, can logon from a Win98 machine (smbclient \\\\server_name\\share_name -U user_name works OK). I have started an stopped samba but it

ssl-cert's
I am not familiar with the usage of SSL-Certs (in Icecast). I'd recommend to put them somewhere into a folder the webserver has access to. Don't forget to change ownership and mode etc. check this out about you problem with the files -> http://stackoverflow.com/questions/991758/how-to-get-an-openssl-pem-file-from-key-and-crt-files

pam_winbind and offline logon
Hi all! As a long slackware user I'm a total noob in pam and I'm banging my head against a wall trying to set it up correctly to play nice with slackware's default pam configuration. One of the things I'm trying to accomplish is to be able to logon while the ad domain is available and have pam_mount automount the samba shares and to be able to do an offline logon and skip the

Musiconhold and Parking crash
One problem I noticed when I was testing was that if I use the flash button twice in a conversation, asterisk will crash. Does anybody have no idea why? MusicOnHold Problem: I'm really not understanding that feature. I know it works, because I can set up an Extension that plays the musiconhold music. ------------------------------------------------------------------------ ----- Somebody

Redundant Database, Pgsql ?
Yes, that looks nice, I am going to try that too. Because every other option is based on some other software, like relayd or nginx, it is all possible, but adds complexity. The best would be to have it inside connection string. On Sun, 2023-02-19 at 17:34 +0000, David White wrote: > Take a look at >

OpenSSH 3.1: ssh-rand-helper
Dear openssh-developers, the new external program ssh-rand-helper appeared in OpenSSH 3.1. While the SFTP_SERVER is defined using a _PATH_SFTP_SERVER pointing to SFTP_SERVER in Makefile.in and defining a default-path in pathnames.h the ssh-rand-helper is simply SSH_RAND_HELPER and defined with a fixed path in Makefile.in and not having a default in pathnames.h. I propose a handling analogous to

PHP Web interface testing and RFC
OK let’s start out with this. I’m not a pro GUI designer… ? Now that that’s done. Welcome to OpenConf. At least that what we call it now. To config an * file click on the filename to the left. For my example use extension.conf. Now you’ll have a FULL text editor and a parsed list of all the [sections] in the extensions.conf file on your left. On the right you will find any numbered var’s

Sipura 841 and headset
Hi folks ! I bought two sipura 841 phones. I used to have GN Netcom headset which I connect instead of the handset. The problem is that I don't have any sound coming out the headset and I can't speak neither ! I'am located in France and I was wondering if the cabling in the sipura and in the headset is the same (I mean the order of the cables) or maybe is there something else to

Change machine name without a reboot?
I'm having trouble changing the machine name programmatically on Samba 4 (running under systemd). There's no "netbios name" option in smb.conf, so I'm relying on it using the hostname. Here's what I'm doing: 1) Call sethostname() with the new name. 2) Write the same name into /etc/hostname, to make it nonvolatile. 3) Read a decimal number from /var/run/smbd.pid.

Redundant Database, Pgsql ?
If I understand open source Postgres correctly, though, this setup basically requires that the application be read-only, or at least be intelligent enough not to attempt to write to a host if it has failed over to it, right? Don't you have to have human intervention to actually fail the master / primary over for write purposes? Sent with Proton Mail secure email. ------- Original Message
