Using tcltk language with R system
Hello, Does anybody know how can i call a R function in a tcltk file? I made
a tcltk file, but I need call functions in R. i.e: in R I can put .Tcl("tcltk

I want to make a R Gui using tcltk language, do you recommend use a tcltk or

caracter set problem
Hi, I'm from Brazil, and I'm having a problem with special
caracters when mounting shares upon Windows XP and 2003.
Even using the options codepage=850 and iocharset=utf-8 some caracters
like ?, ?, ?, ? are gone.
I've tried a lot of combinations of codepages and charsets, but the best
result
is the sample above.
Thanks in advance

smbclient don't list all printers
Hi, I'm working in a migration here in Itaipu Binacional, Brazil.
I'm actually creating a workstation based upon free sw. I'm using Samba
to interact with the Windows 2003 Servers.
We have a windows 2003 printer server, and when I type smbclient -L server,
it's return only about 40 printers atached, but we realy have 180 !!!
My workstation uses a NT PDC through samba+winbind.

HVM memory upper limit
Hello,
I''m trying to create a HVM virtual machine (windows guest) with 3G of
memory but this isn''t working. Xen create the domain but nothing happens
(the OS don''t start and the cpu time remains 0). Things start to work
with 2000MB or below. Is there some kind of upper limit for HVM virtual
machines?
I''m using a Dell PowerEdge 8250 machine with 16GB of memory.

the field ttl in struct referral doesn't work
In samba source code, the file "source\include\msdfs.h" defines a struct named referral. In this struct, there is a field named ttl which is used to decide how long should client cache referral, and this field uses constant REFERRAL_TTL(#define REFERRAL_TTL 600) as default. My problem is when i set REFERRAL_TTL to be 10, it doesn't work.

Samba firts DC fail over
Hello. In my configuration I have three DCs one who build the domain and two replication. For the configuration of the client I put in the resolv.conf the three DC addresse. So normally the client is able to contact all DCs of domain. But to have domain information only the dc that built the domain provided them, and when I stop it, replication DCs are unable to provide this information to client

Samba firts DC fail over
No, the question is about your client machine. Who are the DNS servers configured on it?
Does it have a second dns server configured? If it uses your first DC as DNS, and you take
that DC offline, who the client machine will query for domain info?
As for the issue below it is normal. Every DC registers an "A" record for your domain
name. When you use dig, it will retrieve all

Gluster quotas, NFS quotas, brick quotas, quota-tools
Hi,
I'd like to try to migrate our NFS-based network to gluster, for replication.
We currently use an ext4 filesystem with quota enabled. We have a
couple thousand users (over LDAP), and their quotas vary wildly. We
manage them with edquota(8) on the NFS server. There are many
services which mount the NFS filesystem, and parse the output of
/usr/bin/quota (a webmail, two mail servers,

NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID
I'm not sure I understood the question. Uncommenting the lines or commenting them yelds
the same results, as long as "idmap_ldb:use rfc2307 = yes" is kept in place. Commenting
it as well changes the ids to the 3 million range. Cleaning the caches did not affect the
results.

NT_STATUS_INVALID_SID
Hi Rowland,
Just to let you know, we removed all the idmap entries we had on the smb.conf of our
two DCs and the ids reported by getent passwd at the DCs were in the 3.000.000 range, as
you said. We had to add back 'idmap_ldb:use rfc2307 = yes' to get the user listing with
the original numbers on the DCs.
Here's what we commented out on the configurationfiles.

Samba firts DC fail over
Just a thought if the client machines are still getting a listing in the
DNS for the failed machines wouldn't this be a problem? How would the
programs know not to use the failed server? Is there a way to temporarily
move the failed machines out of dns listings?

[OT?] winbind e quota...
As was used to (in Samba NT/LDAP), i've enabled quota on /homes, and
homes are exported (as homedrive) for users.
Editing quotas (with edquota) works as expected, and in windows explorer
users get quota correctly reported, but a simple:
repquota -a
return nothing:

2.2.0 panics with quotas and no rpc.rquotad on NFS server
Samba 2.2.0 on SPARC Solaris 8
Configured with:
./configure --with-pam --with-syslog --with-quotas --with-msdfs --with-acl-support
I am accessing the share \\server\mgerdts, which is itself an automounted
(NFS) directory. That is, /home/mgerdts on server really exists on
nfsserver. On nfsserver, rquotad is commented out of inetd.conf.
Using smbclient (2.0.7, yeah I know) I do:

Quotas on kernel revision 2.2.19 + ext3 patches
Hi,
Here is the situation, I've got a very old webmail system running on
kernel version 2.2.10 (I know, upgrade :) and it runs with quotas as the
above suggests with ext2.
I upgrade the system to kernel revision 2.2.19 + Stephen Tweedie's patches
at ext3-0.0.7a.tar.gz (off kernel.org) with the kdb and ext3 patch
applied.
Booting up the new kernel still on ext2 reveals that quotas still

Samba, quotas and disk capacity?
Hi Bernd,
There have been a lot of improvements in Samba since 2.0.5; I know
that the 2.0.7 version is supposed to support unix HFS and VxFS quotas.
Also the "with-quotas" option must be turned on at compile time, so perhaps
your 2.0.5 version was not compiled "with-quotas"...
I tested quotas and the HP 2.0.7 version here and it works the way that Dirk
mentions,
you will get
