RE: samba and crash server
hi, the smbd daemons are fallting into process status "D" (uninterruptible sleep). The only way to ged rid of these processes is rebooting your system! To analayze why smbd is falling into status "D" you have to check your logs. Another option is building a strace profile of smbd to see what`s going on. cheers Stefan -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [Samba] RE:

[smbd4wins] wins hook - ttl so long ?
Hi folks, i've a question about the ttl, which my wins hook script gets from smbd4wins: I record many entries with extrem high ttls like refresh $SERVER 20 1181977528 $IPADDRS... the ttl of 1181977528 means ~13.000 days which is very long. if i look into the ldb itself, there's an expiry time of ~ 24days (16.06.2007). ---- dn: name=$SERVER,type=0x20 [...] expireTime:

But we've still problems using roaming profiles (especially prf*tmp) files. We already tested the veto oplock directive with /prf*.tmp/ and even /*.tmp/ but these files remain always locked. Only "root" can delete
