bwi: no DS tssi no OFDM tssi
Hello,
I am attempting to get by broadcom wifi card up and running, am sick of
trying to get ndis working, and am attempting to use the bwi driver
(originating in dragonflyBSD). I'm hoping others here have tried to do the
same and have some pointers. I'm using 7.1-RELEASE (system/source are
in-sync) and my card is a BCM94306MP. My dmesg is posted below.
Bwi(4) is installed and it

Server not responding after Samba upgrade
Hi all,
I used to run Samba 2.2.9 on Debian Woody. Yesterday I upgraded it (with
all necessary packages) to 3.0.7. Since then, Samba on that server do
not respond to netbios queries, only to direct access via IP. Also,
when I try to resolv its name using nmblookup, I cannot find it.
When I access to server via IP address everything works fine.
Any idea ?
TIA

Has anyone seen this before? These phones are behind an edgewater.

Samba as domain member server cannot authenticate users
Hi all,
I use Samba 3.0.9 on Debian Woody. I use it as domain member server:
workgroup = testdomen
security = domain
When I join it to domain, it seems it is ok:
newhas1:~# net rpc join -U dj.dule%pass
Joined domain TESTDOMEN.
wbinfo -u lists users, getent passwd also works fine.
But when I try to access server from XP comp logged onto a domain, i
cannot. I found this in logs:

test for the variance of a normal population
Hi,
Does anyone know an instruction to perform a test (or to construct a confidence interval) for the variance of a normal population (distribution).
The test statistic is (n-1)*S´^2/sigma^2 and has chi square (n-1) distribution.
Thank you,
Alexandra

bug on openssh 3.5p1
Excuse me in advance for my poor english
I have noted a small bug on OpenSSH 3.5p1. When user root is not
permitted to log in a system (PermitRoot no) and a correct password
is submitted for it to server, a RST packet is issued from server to client:
[root at xxx root]# ssh victim
root at victim's password:
Permission denied, please try again.

Sip Registration Problem
Hi All,
I had an unusual problem today; I'm sure it's a configuration problem.
I had 2 phones behind a nat device and I had qualify=300 in both
extensions config. The device I was talking to was an edgewater traffic
shaper,/Sip Proxy. Since it is acting as a sip proxy, it was ignoring
the OPTIONS messages that * was sending, and thus * interpreted that as
the extensions being down.

drawing the graph with many nodes
Good morning,
I'm trying to draw a graph, and I'm using the following code.

colnames(test.matrix) <- gsub("X", "", colnames(test.matrix))
#drop first column
drops <- c("")
test.matrix<-test.matrix[,!(names(test.matrix) %in% drops)]

registry vulnerabilities in R
Kirtland Air Force Base has denied approval for the use of R on its
Windows network. Some of their objections seem a bit strange, but some
appear to be legitimate. In particular, they have detected registry
"vulnerabilities"
which are detailed in the attachment.
I know nothing about Windows registry vulnerabilities. If any of these
issues are
legitimate concerns,

Goodness of fit tests
Dear all,
Is it possible to use chisq.test(x,p) (where x = c(N1,...,Nk) are the
counts in the k "bins" and p is a vector of the probabilities that a
random observation will fall in the various bins) to test the goodness
of fit of a certain distribution for which we had to estimate the
parameters? Is there another function to do that?
Also, how can I use chisq.test or other
