[PATCH] ocfs2: avoid direct write if we fall back to buffered v2
when we fall back to buffered write from direct write, we call __generic_file_aio_write but that will end up doing direct write even we are only prepared to do buffered write because the file has O_DIRECT flag set. This is a fix for https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=591039 revised with Joel's comments. --- fs/ocfs2/file.c | 23 ++++++++++++----------- 1 files changed, 12

[PATCH] Fall back if /sbin/start_udev fails
Howdy. I have an appliance in which /sbin/start_udev exists but does not run successfully: /sbin/start_udev: line 36: /etc/init.d/functions: No such file or directory This prevents the "modprobe virtio_net" line (among other things) from being invoked. The attached patch is what I'm applying locally to libguestfs-1.0.74 to work around the impact of this issue. --------------

Make ssh-rand-helper fall back to commands when configured with prngd
Hi. I recently snookered myself: I build OpenSSH on an old box that didn't have /dev/random, but happened to be running prngd at the time for other reasons. Because I wanted to use commands, I configured --with-rand-helper, however configure found the prngd socket and built ssh-rand-helper to use it exclusively. Next reboot: no prngd, no random seed, no sshd. Do not log in, do not

[PATCH libguestfs-common 2/2] mlcustomize: Fall back to autorelabel if specfile does not exist (RHBZ#1828952).
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1828952#c2 If SELINUXTYPE is set to some value other than targeted then we look for a directory /etc/selinux/<SELINUXTYPE> which does not exist. However this should not cause a fatal error. Using setfiles to do the relabelling immediately is a nice-to-have, but we can fallback to using autorelabel if we're unable to achieve it. ---

Fall back from 2 different sources.
Hi all, we have an industrial strength server acting as a relay for several services using Icecast2. Some of the stations have installed two seperate broadband connections to guard against network outages, which do occur and can last several hours. Exploring the fallback option we find it is limited to different mounts on the same server. What we want to do is have two different Icecast2

[PATCH] Btrfs: fall back to non-inline if we don't have enough space
If cow_file_range_inline fails with ENOSPC we abort the transaction which isn''t very nice. This really shouldn''t be happening anyways but there''s no sense in making it a horrible error when we can easily just go allocate normal data space for this stuff. lost trust with win2k -> win2003 upgrade
Hi all. We are trying to migrate our domain controllers to win2003 and for some reason, samba loses its trust relationship with the server once the PDC has been upgraded. I'm running Samba 2.2.11. Normally, "wbinfo -t" returns "Secret is good.", but after the server was upgraded to win2003, the trust was lost and it started saying "Secret is bad." The wierd
