I have already spent 2 weeks trying to find information on the www and various mailing lists, without success. I would be happy if someone has an idea what I have to fix. I do not particularly need ldap, so if anybody can tell me how to seperate Samba from ldap it

Samba 2.2.5 under Debian 3.0 i386: Still frequent connections.tdb corruption
[CC to Debian package maintainer] Hi there, I'm still experiencing this worrysome tdb corruption even after I upgraded to 2.2.5. I built this package myself from the officially released 2.2.5 source. is this bug or what - samba 3.0.2 - workaround
Hi ! I made some workaround to this problem. I have moved all databases from /var/lib/samba to /var/lib/samba_lock folder, add: lock directory = /var/lib/samba_lock to smb.conf and it is working now - i can log into domain, i can browse machine list etc. but in logs i have many errors like that: lut 14 23:46:31 codo smbd[13803]: [2004/02/14 23:46:31, 0, pid=13803, effective(1002, 221),

Nmbd crash with failure to open wins.tdb
Hello, I've found this issue reported only once before but no real answer was provided/found. I am trying to migrate from an old 2.0.7 server, but the bundled install 3.0.24 on FC6 is giving me major pain. Putting aside the actual configuration and user migration which I need to figure out, the problem is that nmbd refuses to start with the following errors in the log: [2007/02/26 14:05:26,

ldap replication sleep seems not working
When configuring samba PDC to use slave ldap, it seems parameter ldap replication sleep did not work, setting any value did not make any different. I have samba PDC and slave/master ldap connected over fast-ethernet switch, ldap replication take less than 2 seconds, however when adding (XP) machine to domain it gives error " The username could not be found". In machine log: Closing

Hi all, We've just had a power outage and the pc's can now no longer connect to the server. The server had power backup and did not go down which seems strange. can not find samba server through broadcast
Hi all, I am running RedHat 7.3 and Samba 2.2.3a. I am using DHCP for my Linux box (hostname: NGPLinux, IP 132.189.26.62). I can see the list of shares I defined by using "smbclient -L NGPLinux -N". I can resolve the name using "nmblookup -U 127.0.0.1 NGPLinux". However, when I tried to use "nmblookup -B 132.189.26.255 NGPLinux" on the local machine, I got the

Question about tdb files
Hi list I'm running a samba 3.0.24 with an ldap backend and as a print server. The server is also serving printer drivers for my Windows clients. If more information is needed please let me know. I have a question about tdb files. Some of my tdb files haven't been touched since my installation in december 2005 and I'm thinking if this is something I should consider critical or not.
