Samba 2.2.5 - RECYCLE BIN (VFS) problem
Hello Folks,
can somebody give me detailed instructions for compiling the
VFS-recycle bin-extension for samba 2.2.5? I tried it, already RTFM,
but it didn't work. I don't know in which path I have to put the files from
the /example directory to compile it correctly (newbie prob?!).
Are there any further ./configure options I have to use?
I'm running FreeBSD 4.5. You could even send me

Recycler problem
Hi folks,
I have Samba 3.0.10 with SuSE 9.1 running and a problem with the
recycler feature of Samba.
Following setup:
- User A deletes file F1 in directory D
- Samba produces file .recycler/D/F1
- D has permissions -rwx------, F1 has permissions -rwxrw-r-- (owner A)
- User B deletes file F2 in directory D
- F2 doesn't show up in .recycler/D
So all files User B deletes in directory D are

samba4 vfs objects don't work
Hi
It seems the vfs objects are not loaded.
I've joined the domain with
"samba-tool domain join DOMAIN DC -UAdministrator%Passwort --realm=DOMAIN.LOCAL --server=windows-dc.domain.local --use-ntvfs"
The modules zfsacl.so and recycle.so exists in /usr/local/lib/shared-modules/vfs
But neither the ZFS module nor the recycler works.

Roaming profiles - exclude Application Data from roaming profile
Hello All,
I have a problem with my roaming profiles where they are becoming too
large due to the Thunderbird mail accounts (stored by default) in
Application Data. What I would like to do is exclude this directory from
being part of the roaming profile. How can I do this?
Also, how hard is it to have some users not use a roaming profile but
others continuing to use a roaming profile? We

vfs:recycle behavior
Hi folks,
i'm using 3.0.30 on Debian etch, one big share (~250 G) with a separate
recycler, built with the vfs object. Files which are deleted are moved
to that recycler, now my question: Are files that are copied/moved to
another share also moved to the recycler?
Thanks in advance,

vfs object recycle: could two shares use the same repository?
Hi,
i use the vfs-object "recycle" on the [homes] share and defined
recycle:repository = /backup/recycle/%G/%U/.recycle.
What happens, when using the same repository path for another share,
e.g. [data]. Could this lead to data loss in the waste bin?
I could of course branch into "/backup/recycle/%G/%U/.recycle/homes" and
"/backup/recycle/%G/%U/.recycle/data" but i

I have recognized a pretty annoying thing with my Samba-Server:
My smb.conf is set, that deletet files go into the dir
".Papierkorb". It works well one one Client, but when the user deletes Files on the other client, a dir called "RECYCLER" appears with the file and some .ini files in it. Is there a way to solve this?
Both clients are WinXP, I'm using Samba
