PPPoE client help
Please point me in the right direction.... My ISP is giving me an IPv6 prefix, but to get that I have to: The current Speedstream ADSL router will be configured as a bridge. I will have to set up a Linux (read Centos, I hope) router that will connect ethernet to the Speedstream but run PPPoE to his network and get both the IPv4 and IPv6 route delegations. There is no easy way that I know of

ipsec tunnel to netgear fvs318
Hi, I''m trying to set-up an ipsec tunnel between a Redhat9 box and a Netgear FVS318. When trying to initialise the connection - ifup ipsec0 - I get the error: RTNETLINK answers: Network is unreachable This would lead me to believe shorewall is blocking ipsec. My config is below. The output of ''shorewall status'' is attached. Any help in pointing out if I''ve

Call quality questions
Our basic system is as follows: P4 3.0 Ghz w/ HT, 1GB PC3200 RAM, 120 GB HDD, RH 9.0 OS, * from CVS several weeks ago, working OK for routing, VM, and AA, calls in on separate PSTN lines to Adtran TSU 600, into * server through T100P card. The hardware is not taxed at all with little over 20% proc utilization ever, low mem use, etc. All Phones are SNOM 200's with various firmware revisions

SNOM 200 question
Question for other snom 200 users: 1. We have horrible sound quality regardless of the codec we use in the phone or specify in *. Has anyone else run into this early on and found a software fix? 2. Speakerphone will not work for playing VM messages, it chops the message into unintelligible fragments of audio. Any ideas? 3. Initially we have horrible introduction of background noise into the

Issue with installation on wireless-only desktop workstation, CentOS 7(1511)
I realize that many on this list have likely applauded the NetworkManager package split that removed wireless stuff into its own package, NetworkManager-wifi, because for wired workstations and servers it might be desirable to not have any wifi software installed. And I believe it was a sound technical decision to do the split. However, in doing a fresh installation of what most call CentOS

rsync from solaris to cygwin on xp, certain files always copied
I'm rsyncing a directory on a linux box to a win xp pro with cygwin. Some of the files are always copied, or so it appears by the progress report and the fact that a dot version of the file is created and grows to the full size before completion. Note, the source file is not changing - it is a static file sitting in a directory and is not modified. Nor is the corresponding file in the target

Wierd question - Give me your opinion please
Client - Not for Profit in the Middle of the Jungle/Rain Forrest Infrastructure - Datacenter is Non Climate Controlled, Prone to Flooding, and has Sketchy Power, LAN - NEW Cabling in main Office building, Hodge Podge of DYI wiring across remaining buildings. Icecast Station Browser for Winamp Media Library...
Hi Oddsock, brilliant again :-)) The only thing I my WinAmp 2.92 missed under Win2k was the iconv.dll, which you didn't ship with the installer. After that everything went fine. Just a few suggestions: - How about loading a list once the "Icecast stream directory" is selected from the menu on the left side? When I choose "Internet Radio" (the WinAmp builtin) they

question about icecast & winamp & media player
Ahah! I knew I was not the only person who has experienced this with winamp. The problem here is winamp 2.7. It seems that when I tuned into my shoutcast servers (when I ran shoutcast) with winamp 2.7 the longest period I could hold a stream was a little more then an hour. No matter what I did it would bit the dust. There was some discussion about this on the shoutcast broadcaster list, but no one

Polycom behind firewall issue
I have a user that just got a broadband connection so she could have an extension off our pbx. The service is DSL and uses a speedstream 5200 dsl router. I sent her a Polycom IP300. At first it would not access the config files via ftp so I had tech support walk her through setting the phone's internal IP to be the dmz. This allowed me to set up the phone using the web interface and now

Need basic PPPoE startup help
I need basic PPPoE startup help. adsl-start DID bring up my PPPoE link (ppp0) to my ISP over eth0 via the DSL modem/bridge. My IPv4 CIDR block is routing and Shorewall is doing the firewalling. But shorewall has to be started after ppp0 is up and working. For now this means running shorewall restart (or start?). Shorewall 4.2 will have a way to restart shorewall without recompiling, I

Icecast Station Browser for Winamp Media Library...
There has been a lot of talk lately about the Icecast YP, and also the fact that Shoutcast has started to refuse listings of mp3pro streams...so given a bit of free time on my hands (yes occasionally it happens) I wrote this -> http://www.oddsock.org/tools/ml_icecastlist/. It's only for winamp users, and it integrates the icecast YP into the Winamp Media Library...Who da thought that

Wireless LANs and Asterisk
Has anyone had any experience with wireless LANs and Asterisk? We have and here are my impressions. We configured an Asterisk in the office as a precaution to see how it would work for our own retail customers. Our office is open space, about 800 sq ft. (20x40 area). We use Snom200 and Grandstream SIP phones. Using the latest Linksys wireless access point (WAP54g) and 3 wireless bridges

DSL battling rojter - help!
My internet connection is through a Siemens Speedstream 4100 DSL modem connected to AT&T (sbcglobal.net), and a Dlink WBR-2310 router. Late last night, I changed the administrative password on the router, and for some reason it didn't take right, so I had to reset the router to get the password cleared. Unfortunately, this also lost all my connection settings to the DSL, and I lost the
