State of the union
The list has gotten pretty quiet over the last week. As I understand it, we are down to the following big ticket items: 1. Quotas on meta journaling 2. ext3 + LFS 3. Various minor bugs. Is this accurate? -- Keith Barrett Red Hat HA Team

Everyone happy?
There hasn't been any mailing list activity for almost a week. Is it that we are all happy and just waiting for meta-data journaling? -- Keith Barrett Red Hat HA Team

Hi! This is the ezmlm program. I'm managing the zsh-users@sunsite.dk mailing list. To confirm that you would like r-devel@r-project.org added to the zsh-users mailing list, please send an empty reply to this address: zsh-users-sc.1061671108.bhdfflnhpbojcmdbpdde-r-devel=r-project.org@sunsite.dk Usually, this happens when you just hit the "reply" button. ext3/kjournald overhead
Hi, I've recently installed ext3 on an 800MB RAID5 (software) array. I am running RedHat Linux 7.1 with the Linux kernel 2.4.12-ac3 on a 1GHz Pentium system with 128MB RAM. I am seeing a significant amount of write operation slowdown when running ext3 (and kjournald), as opposed to my old ext2. The problem seems to be associated with the times that kjournald is accessing the disk. At

symlink permissions
When CONFIG_EXT3_FS_POSIX_ACL is not defined, ext3_init_acl() is an inline function in fs/ext3/acl.h which doesn't check if a file is a symlink before applying umask. I've always liked my acls to be available (so never noticed), but came across this recently when trying to explain why RedHat Enterprise 3's BOOT kernel creates symlinks 755 during kickstart. I'm *assuming* this is

Authenticated SUBSCRIBE and NOTIFY's R-URI
Hello, I've got a deployment with the SBC in between the clients and Asterisk (11.17.1 version). When the UAC tries to subscribe for "dialog" event package, the NOTIFY request sent by Asterisk fails. The SBC uses a different Contact (user part) for the 1st and the 2nd SUBSCRIBE (with Auth.). The issue is that Asterisk sends the NOTIFY with R-URI of the first SUBSCRIBE's Contact,

Extra REGISTER messages sent by Asterisk when subscribe for MWI is defined in zoiper
Hello all, I have an Asterisk installation with Kamailio using realtime integration. I have gotten my clients to register, but there is something odd about the sip message flow with some of my clients. My clients are Zoiper and Asterisk is 11.10.2. When I set 'Subscribe to MWI' value to 'both', after a normal, successful registration Asterisk begins to send REGISTER messages to

Bug in SUBSCRIBE handling : running out of RTP ports
While trying to deploy a bunch of Polycom IP 500 phones, I ran in to the following. I limited the RTP ports from 8000-8050 to limit holes in firewall. Pretty soon Asterisk ran out of RTP ports. Traced the problem back to how * is handling SUBSCRIBE. A sip structure is allocated as soon as a request is received, which also allocates RTP ports. Normally, this is not a problem as the structure
