I use samba 2.2.1.a on a Redhat 7.2 Linux Server.
I would like to know if it is safe to stop and restart samba while Windows
client users are still connected ?
If not, how can I reload the new configuration hold in "smb.conf" without
disconnect all the currently connected users ?
Thank for your help

Samba 2.0 and MS Access DB
I installed samba on an Intel based Server running Red Hat 5.2. I can
access files on the shares I created but I run into a problem accessing
a database program written in MS Access. It seems that only one person
at a time can open the database. I get an error of "File is already in
use" .
What are the optimal settings for accessing MS Access in a multi-user
application?

Slow performance with lots of files in one directory
Hello,
I've got performance problems with copying small files over to a Samba
share in a directory that has lots of small files (10000 to 20000
files). It takes too long time to copy new files (they drip in at a fast
pace), and smbd eats a lot of CPU time.
Is there any way to make Samba run faster in this situation?
Cheers,

Join new DC to domain - advice to upgrade Samba 4.
Hi Louis,
I installed the acl and edited resolv.conf as you suggested, but the error
persist, unfortunately.
This weekend I'll take a snapshot of the working DC and try to update
Debian and Samba.
If there is some other thing to do before the update, let me know, please.
Thanks and best regards

Join new DC to domain - advice to upgrade Samba 4.
No, there is no firewall... They are on the same network without any
blocking...
Let me tell you a little about my scenario...
When I installed Samba4 as my main AD (2018), I had ADC01 that was my
primary DC and after I joined the ADC02 without any problem. And in the
beginning of 2019, I joined a Windows Server 2008 R2 as my ADC03. All of
them worked well until (around a year) I had a hardware

Join new DC to domain - advice to upgrade Samba 4.
Hi Rowland,
I'll consider the update. But I need to backup this host (adc02) before,
because it the only and the main DC on my network... =(
