Win XP Pro / Linux PDC
Hi all,
I'm trying to configure Samba as a PDC. I'm running Debian Woody, hence
Samba version 3.0.0final-1. We have no Windows servers anywhere on the
network (yay!).
I have done an smbpasswd for root, and add machine script is setup (see
attached smb.conf). From the XP Pro workstation, when I fill in the domain
name, log in as root, and click ok, I eventually get: "The following

SAMBA 2.2.3a printing doesn't succeed on first try (bug 'printer handle not found') (fwd)
hey,
I still have the problem described further down ! I had to downgrade to an
older version to keep printing running on my site, is there any chance to
investigate on this ? Please tell me if you need any further information /
debugging output. This should be really easy to reproduce...
kind regards

Hi everyone -- I have a number of systems here running CentOS 5.2 and

yum is complaining about the R repo. Here's the error I get when
running yum update:

winbind joining wrong AD domain?
(Apologies in advance for the length of this message - hopefully someone
more familiar with AD will be able to point me in the right direction or
at least help me identify what's going wrong here)..
I'm in the process of putting together a new print server using Samba and
CUPS, and I'm having a bit of trouble getting Samba to properly join the
AD domain. Printing works perfectly, and

time server directive and synchronizing Win XP clients
Hi all!
I have configured a Samba PDC (3.0.7) on a Fedora Core 2 machine with LDAP
authentication (conform http://samba.idealx.org/smbldap-howto.en.html). I
have about 180 Windows XP Pro clients using this PDC to log onto the
domain, which works great!
However I seem to have trouble synchronizing the time on the clients to
the time on the server. The users (in group Domain Users) do not have

revolution mkl with R 3.01 on Ubuntu 13.04
So I have two Dell power-edge machines running latest Ubuntu (13.04)
with latest version of R (3.01). I installed revolution-mkl on one
machine (T-410) and it works fine. On the second machine (T-620), it
says the latest version of revolution-mkl is installed, but I'm getting
no multi-processor functioning (R-benchmark-25.R) runs on a single
processor and takes same amount of time

Please see my first post about compiling syslinux-3.01. I've already tried
syslinux-3.02pre2 and the compile log is already pasted in my first post to
the list today. :-)

RC2 and Netmeeting 3.01 ?
Hi,
I'd kindly ask for any guidance how to setup Netmeeting to work with
Asterisk.
I've setup Asterisk as Gateway, selected GSM codec, and I'm able to call
local extensions (no calls into PBX functions) but get no sound.
Any hint, advice ?
Anyone using Netmeeting (maybe also windows messenger) with Asterisk
sucessfully ?
Thanks in advance,
regards,
Robert.

Star Wars Galaxies with wine-0.9.59 (puppy 3.01)
Has anyone had any luck running Star Wars Galaxies with Wine 0.9.59? Also for those not familiar with Puppy it's built on a Slackware 12 foundation. So I start off with just that, the Slackware version of wine. I've also made sure i have all the required and recommended libraries. I have for quite a while had a problem getting gecko installed. but have since downloaded the .cab file to

Can't compile 3.01 on Solaris
I can't get 3.0.1 to fully compile on my Solaris machines(2.6 and 2.8) Below
is an example the error I am getting. Note, that it errored out earlier with
the same problem, I typed make again and it went on to the next file, got
the same error about a file with extension .o.o not existing.
The actual error:

In my last post I pasted the last few line of the compile log for
syslinux-3.02pre2. Here are the correct lines from my failed attempt to

maybe this needs a separate keyword ADDAPPEND

3.01 & FreeBSD Port/Install Makefile Config
Hello,
It appears that the FreeBSD port of Samba 3.0.x may be
falling behind. The port maintainter does not use
Winbind and thus has not kept up with the development
of it. 3.0.1 will very shortly be ported to FreeBSD,
currently it is still at 3.0.0. I know there have been
some recent changes to Samba that help FreeBSD out,
and I wanted to make sure that the port of Samba 3.0.x
on FreeBSD stays

SYSLINUX 3.01 released
Some people have reported portability problems with SYSLINUX 3.00,
mostly due to the use of HDIO_GETGEO_BIG, which is deprecated;
additionally, the advanced menu system wouldn't build for everyone due
to a spurious reference to %ebp.
This release fixes these things, plus makes the extlinux installer
default to zipdisk geometry (64 heads, 32 sectors) if it can't guess
anything else.
