Re: Folder disappears after mounting a share
I am having the same problem. Has anyone found a solution to this yet? At home on my workgroup style network, this works fine. At work on my domain style network, I can connect to most of the computers and servers except a few. When I mount the windows share, the folder I mounted to disappears from Konqueror view. In a terminal window, the folder is not visible either. It doesn't appear

Mandatory Profiles Problem...
Hello, I'm trying to use mandatory Profiles. Everything works fine - but Outlook and for example Visual Studio don't. As soon as I rename the NTUSER.DAT to NTuser.MAN - restart that Computer - and launch OUTLOOK it says that it can't find the outlook.pst in " ...\local settings\..." (which is a hidden folder) I would like to keep the .pst file on the PROFILE folder!!!!!

Very Nice!
Hey Peter! Great work on the SYSLINUX project! I spent three days noodling over how to accomplish *exactly* what your ISOLINUX/MEMDISK combination does! Even a blind hog finds an acorn from time to time. I have it working great using the crpack utility suite from http://www.nu2.nu and one of Bart Lagerweij's techniques employs your SYSLINUX utilities - you probably already know all about

I have some software called" Flashboot" that can take and ISOLinux image and can create a bootable Flash drive of

[OT maybe] netcafe firewall
Hi all, I appologise in advance if this is a little OT, but I am building a box that will serve as firewall and router for a small ''internet cafe / netcafe'' and am using CentOS... So here it is: What are the best tools to be used for keeping the potential script kiddies from ''harming the Internet'' :) ? I specifically want to be able to detect and prevent

Converting ext3 to ext2
According to this: http://www.redhat.com/support/wpapers/redhat/ext3/why.html ext3 is forward and backward compatible with ext2... Any user who wishes to un-journal a file system can do so easily... I am assuming un-journalling is the equivalent of converting it to ext2. How do you do this? I haven't been able to find anything. The reason I want to do this is so I can modify my

[LLVMdev] Calling functions defined in .o files in LLVM code executed in lli
Hi, This is probably an easy question, but I could not find the answer to it. I'm working on a LLVM back-end for the EHC compiler (a Haskell compiler). Currently there is a C back-end and I would like to reuse the primitive library functions from this back-end. So I have compiled C sources in a .o file and I would like to call these from my LLVM code. If I declare these primitive functions

[LLVMdev] Case in Case optimisation: worthwhile?
Hi, The back end of our functional compiler often generates sequential switch statements in LLVM typed assembly that scrutinize on the same expression. For example, in C syntax: #1 switch( e ) { case e2: { e3 } ... } switch( e ) { case e2: { e4 } ... } In this case, it would be nice if the second switch would be embedded in each arm of the first switch. Because the set

convert to binary to decimal
Hello, we need to convert a logical vector to a (decimal) integer. Example: a=c(TRUE, FALSE, TRUE) (binary number 101) the function we are looking for should return dec2bin(a)=5 Is there a package for such a function or is it even implemented in the base package? We found the hexmode and octmode command, but not a binmode. We know how to program it ourselves however we are looking for a

High load average and client timeouts
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 I am setting up a proof-of-concept backup server at my office. The end idea is for a dozen or so of our ~200 workstations to dump images (like PowerQuest DeployCenter, not JPEG) to a 2Tb RAID5 at reasonable speeds. The testbed (whose specs are listed below) is, I admit, grossly lacking in RAM. I still think it should handle at least two or three

So I have a few questions. I have already made the base part of making a windows TFTPD running with memedisk. So that part works, but what I was wondering, if there is a way to some how add an option to the config file. What I have is something like this: label winstall kernel unattended/memdisk append initrd=unattended/winstall.imz That all works great, However, for each image, I have

DOCMEMORY 2.0 (simmtester) and MEMDISK
Like a lot of people, I am using SYSLINUX + MEMDISK to make a technician universal boot disk on a USB key (I have done the same with ISOLINUX and MEMDISK for a CD using Bart's method for bootable CDs) I *LOVE* Syslinux and MEMDISK, and what I can do with floppy images! I have a few problems that have cropped up, most notably the DOCMEMORY program (www.simmstester.com) boots fing, but the
