using more plotting area for a lattice plot
Hi Group, For the plot below, are there other ways I can use more of the plotting space. I've tweaked the parameters I know of. I could also put the plot titles inside the plot if there is a way to do that. Thanks for your input. Regards, Juliet p1 <- runif(1000) # sample data qp1 <- qqmath(~ -log(p1), data = as.data.frame(p1), distribution =

Mappery breakthrough : Garmin topo, vista, rino, under linux & CXO
As most of you know, I've been trying to make GPSs and topo maps usable under Fedora Core 4 linux, using CrossoverOfficePro (CXO) 5.0.1. I've belabored nine or ten specialized lists for six or eight weeks, parcelling out pieces of the problem wherever I hoped they might arouse interest and knowledge. I've gotten invaluable help and encouragement from all of them, on the lists

VDQ : Have I made a wine's nest?
Very Dumb Question here -- basically, am I in trouble? Or in other words, I have to ask myself a Falstaffian question: "Which .wine, Bezonian?" Let me expound. On several lists for different parts of the problem, according to their interest and my best judgment, I've been pursuing the topic of GPS/topo map settings, under Crossover Office Pro 5.0.1 (CXO) using Fedora Core 4, trying

reasons for using CentOS in business environments
My apologies if this question has been previously answered, but could anyone here provide me with resources that I might use to help build a case for exclusively using CentOS in an enterprise environment? (Approximately 200 servers) Long story short, I've used a little of everything out there (Gentoo/Debian/*BSD/Slackware) and have a fairly good overall strategy of how they all work (all of

CrossOver Linux Vs. Wine
Sorry to bother, but I can?t understand a lot of your double standards ... On the one hand develop a proprietary product "CrossOver Linux", but at the same time cooperating with the project "Wine" that's free. Wine could be today better than CrossOver Linux, but who knows, perhaps you are sabotaging and delaying the Wine project. I Don?t understand why you don?t develop

Running KoolMoves
Hello again, I'm able to run KoolMoves 6.0 (KM) under Wine but it's missing some functionality. KM is a Flash authoring tool and the missing functionality is mostly the ability to use the internal preview functions. Internal preview requires a browser and a flash plug-in, both of which I have. I also tried KM under CrossOver Office and it works 100%, so I'm hoping I can tweak

Stuck at "Trying to Load: pxelinux.cfg/default"
Hello, I'm extremely new to Linux and am working on creating a PXE server/menu with PXELINUX and Microsoft DHCP/TFTP. I've gotten it to work great with the exception of one box: the IBM SurePOS 532. If I specify a boot image in my DEFAULT file, it works fine. However when I try to use MENU.C32, it gets stuck at "Trying to Load: pxelinux.cfg/default." Based on TFTP logs, it

Agent 3.3 on Linux?
I dual boot WinXP and Fedora Linux and would like to run Agent 3.3 when I boot to Fedora. Has anyone successfully installed WINE (codeweavers?) on Linux and gotten the current Agent to function? What has your experience been? What problems have you encountered? I've seen very little discussion in the newsgroup. The web page that Mark Prince pointed to a few years ago is no longer active:

iTunes/WineTools - Status?
Hi, I was just wondering what the status of iTunes under and standard version of Wine is and whether any version of WineTools is yet set up to install it? I visited the WineTools website but didn't find iTunes on the supported software list. I understand that it runs under Crossover Office but I tried and was not able to get it to work. Thanks, Mark

Sipura SPA-841 auto-answer support [patch]
Sipura has implemented auto-answer in version 0.9.5 of the SPA-841 firmware. However, it is implemented via the Call-Info header, which Asterisk stable doesn't currently support. The attached patch implments a quick hack to support the Call-Info header from the Dial() application by way of setting the CALL_INFO variable. For example, the following macro can be used to dial up a single

Best Fortress LI660VA-Question(s)
Hi, I recently got a Best Fortress LI660VA which was until then used on an AS/400 System. It's quite old and even with minimal Load only keeps the Line for a few seconds -- however, two new (Panasonic) Batteries cost less than half of what a new UPS will cost and so I decided to keep it. However, I'd like to run some Monitoring SW for the UPS. No Problem, I found NUT and was impressed by

I've tried it by installing 4.4 first, and then FC6. I've tried it by installing FC6 first, and then 4.4. I've tried it with and without giving the installer permission to

Thank you - I have included the capture, and attached it here. USB is new to me. I am a good sysadmin, but terrible programmer. I was able to use the usbhid-dump utility using -e stream, the last octet will report the state of the detected power (1/2 for ignition on, 3 for ignition off, 0 for powered-off). 4th one seems to be voltage, and the 5th and 6th I believe are timers:
