homes share mapping problem in samba 3
The homes share is not mapping properly anymore once upgrading to samba 3.
This works without problems in samba 2.2.8a and 3.0.0. However I have seen
this problem consistently in 3.0.1, 3.0.2, 3.0.3 and 3.0.4; if I go back to
2.2.8a then the problem goes away. I have searched the newsgroups and
others have had the same problem, but no one had found a solution and said
that "homes" as a

transfering active call to user's voicemail
Hi there,
I would like to setup up my Asterisk to do this:
receptionist answers the call, caller says he wants to leave a
voicemail message for Ashleigh, receptionist transfers the call to
Ashleigh's voicemail
I guess It has something to do with dynamic features, or probably
blind transfer to special ext. might do it
what would you recommend?
cheers!

Hi ,
FQDN of the DC is Hostname.DomainName .
In smb.conf:
netbios name = <HostName>
realm = <DomainName> eg: (ww.xx.yy.zz)
workgroup = ww
In resolve.conf
domain <DomainName>
nameserver <IP Address of the DC i.e host IP>
# host -t SRV _ldap._tcp.<DomainName>.
_ldap._tcp.<DomainName> has SRV record 0 100 389 <HostName>.<DomainName>.

Fairly sure I have said this already, but if I haven't, I will say it
now:
Do not use kinit to get the machines kerberos ticket, winbind has

[LLVMdev] how to get a deterministic execution
The generated code is deterministic, but the global order the instructions were generated
seems it is not (although the result is guaranteed to be the same).
Now I think the order functions are processed might not be guaranteed.
I've attached a test case, and here is what I get:

Samba, Kerberos, Autofs: Shares get disconnected
Hi Rowland
yes sure I know who user '0' is ;-)
so where should the ticket be then?
I just rebooted the PC and logged in via SSH as root. There is no ticket
for the machine :-(
even though, the Active Directory join seems to be OK, as "net ads
testjoin" says so.
I am still a bit lost on how I should proceed.
To have this all working more or less, I just mounted the shares with

[LLVMdev] how to get a deterministic execution
Hello,
For debugging purposes, I've added a unique id member to the Value class:
global_next_vuid = 0;
Value::Value(..){
vuid = ++global_next_vuid;
}
My hope is that by looking at the vuid of a Value, I can see its vuid,
set a conditional breakpoint and re-run the compiler to
see who (what pass) constructed that value.
Maybe I am not doing it the right way, but the above 'vuid'

Help with ADS authentication and Samba
Hi there, just recently joined this list as I seem to be having a little trouble that I am hoping someone can help with.
I recently installed a RHEL5.5 server and updated samba to samba3-3.4.11-42.el5.x86_64.rpm. I had never set up samba to authenticate with ADS so I read a little bit and dove right in. The server now works fine, so when I browse to \\machinename<file:///\\machinename> no

Creating maching trust accounts

I have created a machine trust account with the following command
'pdbedit -a -m -u machinename' and I noticed that after I execute the
following command 'pdbedit -L -v -u machinename', the Unix username is
in lowercase letters? Because when I attempt to join a domain with a
Windows 8.1 machine, it emits a error that it can't find the Machine
account? Does it

Troubles with NT domain logons ?
Dear Sirs !
I succesfully setup samba 1.9.18p3 to work
with domain logons of win95. Works perfectly.
Also I tryed to compile samba with -DNTDOMAIN and
configure NT to with domain logons.
If samba compiled with-NTDOMAIN,
NT can't work with samba in any way -
w/ domain logons and w/o.
Below log file that created by samba,

Note: I uses unix
