No solution yet: No access even with domain trusts
Me and my problem again... I created the root user on the 2k Domain now (same password as on linux), and can authenticate that one. Strange a little, don't really understand that though. Is there any possibility to solve that, maybe by duplicating the user database on Linux in a regular time period? Or anyone maybe got the same problem and could help me with that? Would be really nice.

WG: No access even with domain trusts
Again me, got a log file too (forgot to add it). Made that one while trying to get groups from that user (used winbindd -d 10 -i). Hope anyone can help me with that, for I really don't know what to do anymore. Group auth with ntlm_auth
Hi there, I am trying to set up a Squid proxy using group authentication via samba ntlm. So I thought about using ntlm_auth, which can authenticate groups since Samba version 3.0.4 as I read. So anyone knows if it is possible to authenticate against different groups? Problem is we got 4 domains, each has it's own group called WWW and only members of that group are allowed to use the proxy.

Authentication Problem
Hi Folks, I got a little problem with authentication. I set up samba 3.0.0 and squid 2.5stable4, using winbind to authenticate users via group with the nt4 domain pdc. Anyway... sometimes the authorization/authentication doesn't work. In the first test I had no problems surfing the net via proxy, and some minutes later I get an access denied message with the same user... so this is this a

makepkg.sh for samba 3.0.20
Hi, I downloaded 3.0.20 from samba.org, ran makepkg.sh to create samba pkg for Solaris. The install base for the new version locates in /opt/samba and the smbd locates in /etc/samba. I tried to modify the makepkg.sh to put everything under /usr/local/samba as follow: Delete: ==== --localstatedir=/var/lib/samba \ --with-piddir=/var/run \

Grr why is this so hard? Compiling samba-3.6.24 for android using the sourcery toolchain. Dropbear and busybox went w/o a hitch. I've googled the hell out of this, nothing I've found has helped. Here's my config: ./configure --without-krb5 \ --without-ldap \ --without-ads \ --disable-cups \ --enable-swat=no \ --enable-static=yes \ --disable-shared \ --with-winbind=no \

ldapsearch w. SSL refuses to connect to server with openssl 1.0.1 (worked with openssl 1.0.0)
Hi, ldapsearch with an ldaps-URL stopped working recently, probably with the update from openssl 1.0.0 to openssl 1.0.1. On a server with up-to-date packages (openssl-1.0.1e-16.el6_5.x86_64, openldap-clients-2.4.23-32.el6_4.1.x86_64) I get the following errors when issuing an ldapsearch (some parts anonymized): [bad]# ldapsearch -H "ldaps://ldap.domain.org:6636/" -D <binddn>

Failed rpmbuild-ing samba-3.0.32.tar.gz
Hi, Relating to my emails before (SAMBA & SOLIDWORS : cat & dog?) now I've been trying to update my samba-3.0.10 to samba-3.0.32 . I downloaded the source form samba.org and trying to create rpm package from one. I created ~/.rpmmacros file %_tmppath /home/fcmario/tmp %_topdir /home/fcmario/src/rpm %prefix /usr/local and ran % rpmbuild -ta ~/src/rpm/SOURCES/samba-3.0.32.tar.gz I

status on samba trusts
Hi, No replies unfortunately. Unsure why. We searched the list, and we found little discussion on the subject of trusts. We see occasional questions, but they are often left unanswered, like this one. If someone could point us to some good up-to-date docs on trusts with samba then we would really appreciate it. We setup a test environment (one samba 4.9.4 testad2 AD, one native windows

Registry, HKEY, CONFIGDIR CorelDraw problems
Hello Wine experts. I am trying to get CorelDraw 7.0 to work under wine, and I have successfully installed the program, but when I attempt to run it, I get the following dialogue error message: Key: "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Corel\CORELDRAW\7.0" Value: "ConfigDir" not found in the Registry. Along with this error message, comes the exciting output displayed below, that is

Winbind authentication over transitive trusts between multiple W2k3 Domains
Hallo, we use Samba 3.0.22 with MIT Kerberos and winbind on Ubuntu edgy in a Windows2003 ADS enviroment. Everything works fine like kinit, net ads join, getting the Domain accounts from the own and other domains, but one important thing fails - obviously winbind cannot resolve name to sid, when the account is in another domain, where is only a transitive trust, not a direct. Lets say there

status on samba trusts
Hi Stefan, Thanks for your input. I'll check the dns stuff. I put resolvers for both domains as primary and secondary on both machines, but I guess that's not good enough. I'll look into setting up a (query logging) dns proxy, that should tell us at least who is asking what. Any chance to share that (german) article you wrote? My german is not perfect, but good enough to

Now I have created version 9.1.0.1.531. http://sourceforge.net/projects/nas4free/files/NAS4Free-9.1.0.1/9.1.0.1.531/ Basic CARP + HAST + iSCSI target setup can be done, but very frequently I get hastctl hang when called: /sbin/hastctl status /sbin/hastctl dump Is it better for this method not to call from a script? or

Still stuck with Samba on Solaris 10
I was hoping someone could post, or point me to, a clear set of instructions for compiling Samba 3.5.3 (or even 3.4.8) on Solaris 10. Or even just confirmation that Solaris 3.5.3 really can compile on Solaris 10 with active directory, nsswitch and zfs support. (I notice that Samba and Blastwave versions of Samba 3.4.x do not include zfs and nsswitch support.) I have a consistent issue that I
