Odd error
I have Ssh setup for passwordless execution of the rsync command via sudo.
(command="sudo /usr/local/bin/rsync...") which for the most part works
fine. However, somewhere along the line things aren't running as the right
uid/gid. I get
Oct 11 13:15:40 node15 sudo: back-op : TTY=unknown ;
PWD=/usr/home/back-op ; USER=root ; COMMAND=/usr/local/bin/rsync --server
--daemon .

Rsync && ssh && passwordless
I'm attempting to setup rsync to do backups of a remote system. I'd like
to make it passwordless. The trouble I'm running into is I run sshd with
PermitRootLogin Off for obvious security reasons. This means that I can't
use rsync over ssh to the root user. Instead what I thought of was sshing
to the machine I want to backup via a seperate user that is added to the
sudoers file and

tinc stopped working after restart
Hi.
I'm in desperate need of some good advice.
I have a tinc network with 16 nodes. It's a star topology where all nodes
are connecting to the one node (Node1) that have a static IP.
Node 1 accepts incomming connections
Node 2 through 16 connects to Node1
One of the nodes (Node5) stopped working a while ago (2 - 3 weeks or so),
other than that everything was working fine. Today I

mount_smbfs and samba 2.2.0
I know 5.1 isn't considered part of -stable, but it doesn't really seem like -current either, so I'm asking here. If this is the wrong place please let me know where I should be.
At work I have a 5.1-R box that I'm trying to use to mount shares from a Sun box running samba 2.2.0 as well as some Win2K boxes. Both the sun and win2k machines authenticate to the company's domain

Is mount_smbfs broken in 6.1-PRERELEASE?
Anyone know if mount_smbfs is broken in 6.1, I'm trying to run this:
"mount_smbfs -I 192.168.1.2 //nbritton@192.168.1.2/music2 /mnt/network/music/"
And then it asks for my password, I type it in, and then I get this error:

OS X Panther and Samba 3 give me no access to a 2003 share :(
I can't mount any windows 2003 share with Samba 3 included in OS X 10.3.
I suppose that the problem is Kerberos but I just don't know how to
correct my configuration (on win2k3 and/or OS X). Here's an example of
what I get if I try to mount a share:
osxcli:~ root# mount_smbfs -U testusr1 -W TESTW2K3 //main/testusr1
/mountpt
