workstation service failing on Windows XP (Samba + LDAP)
Greetings,
I am having problems with about 80% of my Windows XP machines that
are connected to a PDC. The PDC is running Fedora Core 2, Samba 3.0.3-5,
openldap 2.1.29-1 ***, and kernel 2.6.5-1.358. The XPs that don't work
are all very new machines and I am guessing that they are running a
different version of XP than the ones that do work. All of the Win98
machines I have connected to

Compilation problem chan_capi and Eicon Diva 4Bri
Hi *,
I want to integrate the Eicon Diva 4Bri Card to Asterisk.
Eicon drivers and capi is installed. I use the latest dev version from
eicon compiled and installed for my fedora 2 system.
I found the chan_capi for asterisk from www.junghanns.net. Also loaded
the patch and applied to the chan_capi source tree.
I changed the Makefile to include the capi20.h from eicon:

FC2 zaptel compile failure
I've got a fresh FC2 install and I'm trying to get the symlinks right
according to the /usr/src/zaptel/README.Linux26 instructions.
I've created two symlinks:
/usr/src/linux-2.6 -> /usr/src/linux-2.6.5-1.358
/lib/modules/linux-2.6 -> /lib/modules/2.6.7-1.494.2.2
When I do a "make linux26", I get a million warnings and errors with the
result being:

Fedora Core 2 and Kernel 2.6
Hi All,
I decided to have a go at installing Asterisk on FC2 which now runs on
Kernel 2.6..
Unfortunately I didn't get very far..
When trying to build zaptel it required me to link /usr/scr/linux-2.6 to
the default source dir which is /usr/src/linux-2.6.5-1.358.. I guess
thats still the RH infulence.. :)
After than I tried again but the page rolls with errors and finally ends
with..

Re: aec
I've tried some further debugging to see what mdf is
actually doing. Instead of sending:
tmp_out = (float)ref[i] - st->y[i+st->frame_size]
to the output, I just sent
st->y[i+st->frame_size]
to see what was being subtracted from the microphone
input. When I open this in Audacity, I see a very
small signal at about -40dBm. The actual echo in my
sample has a power closer to -20dBm.

Install problems
Has anyone install zaptel-1.0-RC1 on Fedora Core 2?
First thing I found is I need to have a link to 2.6 from 2.6.5
ln -s /usr/src/linux-2.6.5-1.358/ /usr/src/linux-2.6 fixed this problem.
Now I get this.
Install gets this error
make[2]: *** [/root/asterisk/zaptel-1.0-RC1/zaptel.o] Error 1
make[1]: *** [/root/asterisk/zaptel-1.0-RC1] Error 2

Hyperthreaded P4 processor count
I have three different live-CD distributions that give me different
numbers for the cpu count on this box (Dell P4 2.4GHz).
-the Knoppix 3.3 (11-19-03) says 1 processor (no error);
-the PHLAK 0.2 distribution say 1 processor (and 1 missing)
-the Local Area Security distro says two processors (identicle P4s).
Might there be somthing new in 2.0.8 that accounts for this difference. Is
there a

R.dll
Hello
After conducting a simulation R closes down reporting the problem I have
listed below. These are extracted from the event viewer option under
the control panel option in windows. This problem occurs quite often
but is as far as I can tell fairly sparadic. I can run identicle
programs which run successfully the first time but on the second run it
does not (and vise-versa also).

Re: aec
Thanks for alerting me to the new changes. I just
tried the latest code from SVN, but unfortunately I
still have just about the same results. The estimated
echo that gets subtracted from the actual echo is such
a small signal that it doesn't really result in any
noticeable echo attenuation.
I currently have my filter size set to 2 seconds even
though the echo in my microphone file is only

Joining NT4 workstations to a Samba 3 Domain
Linux: Fedora Core 2
Samba: 3.0.3
OpenLDAP: 2.1.29
I've noticed a couple of other messages in this month's archives that
suggest they're having the same problem as I, but so far no resolution
has been reported.
I've got a new Samba domain up and running with LDAP that allows me to
join Win2K and XP clients, but not NT4 workstations. I've added the

User/Machine RID generation error?
Hello:
I'm using:
- samba-common-3.0.9-1
- kernel 2.6.5-1.358
- FC 2
- openldap-servers-2.1.29-1
We're running an NT4 domain using an LDAP backend, and everything was running fine until recently. The first thing that I noticed that new users were suddenly being assigned SambaSID's that were previously being assigned to machines.

ztdummy compile again
Hi,
I'm still strugling with getting an easy to use conference system
implemented. I did have app_conference running, but today I upgraded
asterisk to 1.0.9 and it stopped working. I've tried following the
instructions for compiling app_conference on 1.0.7 but it didn't work.
So I went back to ztdummy (I've not had any luck getting this to compile
on FC2).
Anyhoo, I've

I ran some further tests on mdf and here are the
results:
1. reduced tail length to 100ms, aligned mic and
speaker signals to within 10ms - almost no echo
attenuation
2. aligned mic and speaker signals to within 5 samples
- still almost no echo attenuation
3. ran testecho using the same file for mic and
speaker - very good echo cancellation (of course this
is expected, but I needed to do a sanity

Uninitialized constant in a template for production server only
Not sure what is going on here, we are trying to push out a new
version of one of our tools to production. Everything works perfectly
in development (mac) and on our staging server (debian sarge) but the
prodution server (debian sarge) hates what we have done.
We have some variables set in the various environments *.rb file
One of them is a link to another product. It changes based on what
