Samba 2.0.3 and NT Terminal Server SP4/MetaFrame 1.8
I'm running NT 4.0 Terminal Server (Service Pack 4) with Citrix MetaFrame 1.8 on a PC, and Samba 2.0.3 on an HP-UX box. We've been having occasional problems with files not saving correctly, and also with files not unzipping or copying correctly. I suspect it's some sort of incompatibility between Samba and Terminal Server/Metaframe and/or SP4. For

Did I screw up my PDC on this Terminal Services problem?
Hi All, I am upgrading my samba server from a workgroup to PDC server. I am doing this to make a Windows 2008 Terminal server happy. Eventually there will be a bank of them (thank you Virtual Box). Anyway, in my test bed, I have a Samba PDC (newly updated to PDC), a Windows 2008 server, and XP-Pro-SP3. Both Windows machines are able to join the domain and log in as users only in the Samba

Logon privilege denied using Samba PDC with terminal services
Hello everybody, I have a Windows Server 2008 with terminal services enabled joined to a Samba domain (SuSe server) and I'm able to login as 'domain\user' when I'm physically sitting at the Windows Server 2008 box. The problem arises when I try to logon via RDP using 'domain\user' onto the Windows Server machine. I get an error message telling me that 'Your

Samba - NT Terminal Server error
Hi all, I have a Dell PowerEdge 6300 running Windows NT Server 4.0, Terminal Server Edition (SP5) + Citrix MetaFrame 1.8. We are running Samba 2.0.4 on a Sun Enterprise 4500 with Solaris 7. The smb.conf specifies server-based authentication, and specifies the Terminal Server as the password server. The users are not allowed to directly log on to the Sun box, so on that server

Samba + Terminal Server issue *SOLVED*
I am writing this here because I did not get a reply to my help requests earlier and managed to solve this by myself. I have a Win2003 server and a Linux box running Samba 3.0.5 as PDC. The problem I had was that domain users could not log in through Terminal Services. Local users could use TS just fine and even domain users could log in locally, but not through TS. In addition, there were

Unified Messaging On Thin Client / Terminal Server
I would like to get Unified Messaging working in a Thin Client / Terminal Server environment. What I would like to happen: when a user gets a voice-mail, Asterisk sends an email with a Voicemail-URL that notifies the person they have a message. When they click that from their Remote-Desktop / RDP / Thin Client session, that sends a message via HTTP to Asterisk to play the voicemail on

Samba and Win2k Terminal Services
Hello, I have a Samba PDC running (using LDAP in the back-end). I'm able to join systems to the domain, and log in to each machine, at the console, as domain users. However, when I try to log into our Win2k Terminal Server (w/ Citrix Metaframe), the log in session crashes with winlogon.exe trying to reference memory. If I log into the machine via terminal server, as a local

Outlook XP on NT 4.0 Terminal Server Edition & Samba
To start with, I'd like to praise the entire Samba Team, Samba 2.2.3.a compiled and installed perfected. I wish all vendors could do that good of job. Great documentation too! KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK. Now that the "cheese" is over with... I posted a problem the other day concerning the funtionality between Outlook XP .PST files and Samba 2.2.2 & 2.0.7 on Solaris 2.6 As it

guys sorry to take this thread onboard once more, but I still can't get this sorted. I have compiled the latest tarball from samba, 4.2.2 . compilation works fine and after that I am able to upgrade from samba 3 with the following command: samba-tool domain classicupgrade --dbdir=/var/lib/samba-ccdc1/dbdir/ --use-xattrs=yes --realm=ccdc.lan /etc/samba/smb-ccdc1.conf 2>&1 | tee

Samba and Citrix Metaframe.
Hi Folks, I was wondering if anybody else on this list is using, or trying to use, Samba (esp. on an IBM mainframe) as a print server in a Citrix Metaframe environment, or are we the first? We're getting one or two odd problems... Metaframe is creating the printers on our Samba server as "Client" printers, rather that connecting to them direct. We can connect and print fine from

Redirector timeout error with samba 2.09 and NT WTS
