Unified authentication
Greetings. Apologies if this has been asked before. I've gone through Google and the archives to no avail. I am seeking to implement a unified authentication mechanism for a small(Less than 50 users) setup. I've been trying to wrap my head around PAM and SAMBA. It almost seems like it can be done, but I can't quite convince myself. Most of my users are Windows

udp broadcast over ipsec
Hello all, I am configuring a vpn between freeswan and windows 2000. I am following the steps at http://www.jacco2.dds.nl/networking/win2000xp-freeswan.html, to get the VPN up and running. using this I have a ppp tunnel between windows and linux, which is inside a l2tp tunnel which is again encrypted by IPSec. (the url gives the configuration in detail and I have followed it exactly) Now the

I wonder if any one give me the hints about quantum or r2q. i guess quantum is used when two class has same prio and rate and want to give first priority between them and control the borrowing traffic. It should be set more than MTU too. But my

Question on Samba Service
Hi, For no particular reason, my Samba service didn't start yesterday, when I went to start it by going in the /usr/local/samba/sbin and then typing SMBD I got an error "permission denied" and something about the port 139 (sorry I don't have the whole error message) No changes were made on the box. I started looking over the web and I found an something out something to

Mirroring cvs archives
I have started mirroring various cvs archives such as gcc, but I have started wondering/worrying about the validity of doing this. If the cvs archive is busy and potentially subject to many accesses during the rsync process, is the mirrored copy going to be valid/consistent? Any information/help greatly apprieciated Andrew Walrond

vorbis_encode_init() bitrate arguments - offtopic
Hi, It's a bit offtopic for this list, but you might be able to help. For libvorbis rc3, what is the correct bitrate parametrization for the call vorbis_encode_init()? For rc2, it worked calling it the following way: vorbis_encode_init( &vorbisInfo, 2, // two channels 44100, // 44.1kHz

I want to connect to a l2tp server from centos.
I have a server currently connecting to a pptp remote server. This server(lns\lac) has the option for pptp connections and l2tp connections. The l2tp connections are not using ipsec encryption at all. I have seen couple guides\tutorials on the internet: - https://raymii.org/s/tutorials/IPSEC_L2TP_vpn_on_CentOS_-_Red_Hat_Enterprise_Linux_or_Scientific_-_Linux_6.html -

I want to connect to a l2tp server from centos.
Hey John, I do not require encryption at all, it's a secure and internal channel but it requires me to connect via either pptp or l2tp. This is the reason I am asking. I had the chance of finding the SoftEther Project which gives a lot in terms of VPN Client and Server. At: http://www.softether-download.com/en.aspx But yet to try it. Also they have all sorts of beta versions but not

IPSEC/L2TP Local and External Internet Access at same time through two interfaces?
Hey First, apologies if this went out twice. I sent the original email from an odd email configuration (essentially from an alias of what I signed up as). I searched and noticed that my post did not appear and I did not get a bounce back so I was confused. I waited a few days before resending. So apologies if this goes out twice. I am not trying to spam. I was hoping someone could help me with

I want to connect to a l2tp server from centos.
Hey Gordon, I do not have any security issue in this network. I need to connect to a remote network on a secure network. The options are pptp or l2tp(no ipsec encryption) so I do want to use l2tp like in (lac\lns) and I am looking for a client for CentOS. Note that it works in ubuntu so it is possible to achieve the same with CentOS but I do not know what is behind the gui that initiates the

L2tp and winbind - server role active directory domain controller
Uhm upgrade.. to zentyal 4.2.. Setup a member server, now enable l2tp with winbindd That should work fine. Winbindd can not run on the AD DC, but it does on a member server. France has their (first?) SIP carrier with "unlimited" calls for 6eu/mo
Asterisk must have a reasonably large community here in France judging from the number of people who came out to meet Mark. Either that or we were ALL there :) Something I've been waiting for, a voIP carrier on the models we are used to (low monthly or pay as you go, web account) has just set up their first beta test for 1 euro for the first month, 6euros if you decide to keep it. The basic
