Further to my last post I decided to BUY a copy Suse 9.1 including Samba 3. Not only was Suse very easy to setup I managed to get Samba up and running without too many problems and can now print from Windows clients via Samba. First of all, I forgot to mention, that I have Debian 9 with standard Samba 4.5. Modifying the oemsetup.inf should not be neccessary as I have set the os_major/minor to 6/0.
