*.ocx files only in system directory ?
I'm working on installing windows applications on a multi user gnu/linux box. The application needs some native .dll and .ocx files... Those files should not reside in wine's system directory but in the applications's directory so every user can use the application without having to copy the files to his system dir. Everything works fine for the DLLs. But it seems OCX are expected to

using native windows dlls
I still have a Win98 SE CD and license that's not used any more. Does it make sense to install this on an extra partition and use it as the basis for a wine installation? Or copy everything from that partition to fake_windows? +----------------------+ Carl Weitz cmweitz@web.de +----------------------+ ____________________________________________________ Aufnehmen, abschicken, nah

Xprint support in OpenSSH?
Hello, Does OpenSSH have any plans yet to extend the existing X11 forwarding support to include Xprint - the XOrg standard for printing? Documentation can be found at http://xprint.mozdev.org/docs/ The only change required to have Xprint support is to forward the X print server connection referenced by the XPSERVERLIST environment variable similar to the video display server referenced by the

pxelinux.0 bug
Hi: I use this driver to set up my Fedora Core 1 as a PXE server. After I successfully boot up from network in my laptop, it erases my Intel PXE boot manager from my laptop's BIOS. The BIOS of my laptop has an option to choose form "boot from ethernet", but it is gone after I use this driver. Now I have to reflash my laptop's BIOS and Intel PXE boot manager ROM to make it come

Request: Time Stamped Dump-Files
Hi, I urgently need a feature to save the dump-files in splitted timestamped chunks or - much better - named accordingly to the stream metadata. I don?t want to use utilities like streamripper to make dumps because they act as a client and thus the "relay on-demand" feature of icecast isn't usable anymore. I only want to have a copy of the stream when somebody is actually

CentOS7 and NFS
Hi Barbara, Thanks for all these suggestions. Yes, jumbo frames are activated and I have only two 10Gb ethernet switch between the server and the client, connected with a monomode fiber. I saw yesterday that the client showing the problem had not the right MTU (1500 instead of 9000). I don't know why. I changed the MTU to 9000 yesterday and I'm looking at the logs now to see if the

The number of threads has nothing to do with the number of cores on the machine. It depends on the I/O, network speed, type of workload etc. We usually start with 32 threads and increase if necessary. You can check the statistics with: watch 'cat /proc/net/rpc/nfsd | grep th? Heads up regarding using nfs with ocfs2
All, This is a heads up only for users exporting OCFS2 volumes as NFS mounts. If not, please disregard this email. Recently there was a bugzilla filed that mentioned observing file system lockups when accessing OCFS2 exported volumes with FreeBSD NFS clients. The lockups were not observed by him with Linux NFS clients. http://oss.oracle.com/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=977 Analysis showed that the

Something similar to data.frame, but allows variables with unique lengths?
I have a tightly coupled collection of variables with different lengths and types (some characters and others numerics).  I looked at the documentation for data.frame, but indicates that it expects all variables to have the same length, i.e. number of elements.    I was hoping the "See Also" documentation for data.frame would have helped, but it did not have any good leads.  Here is a

Deleting the association entry for has_and_belongs_to_many when one object is destroyed
I know that for has_many, and has_one. I can do :dependent => true and the associated object will be destroyed when the main object is destroyed. However, there does not seem to be a dependent like option for has_and_belongs_to_many. Is there one I do not know of? Is there a simple solution to this? Thanks, Brian -- www.kenlet.com

Unit Testing - Persistence of Destroyed Objects?
I was doing some unit testing today and came across something that surprised me. Either I am confused, or destroyed objects persist in memory when doing unit testing. To explain: I have a model, Author, which ''has_many :web_resources''. One type of "web resource" for an Author is the authors website. So, to facilitate easy creation/lookup of websites for authors, I
